Helping work-from-home humans thrive ✨ Tips on focus, creating boundaries to live life your way, & building friendships online 💃 Head of Community @ Groove
Over the last 2 years, I’ve hosted 35 monthly Goal Planning Parties for the Groove community and beyond. Hosting events is all about experimentation, which is why I always start with a Minimum Viable Gathering (MVG) 🥳 If you're an event host, take the pressure off of your next event by defining your MVG 🧪 Go into the planning process with a clear answer to this question ⬇️ What is THE most important thing for me to learn from hosting this event, that will make the next one even better? 💡 Every time I host, I learn new things and make changes to improve the experience. When you start with a clear MVG, hosting again is just a fun iteration process. So, if you’re thinking about hosting a gathering sometime soon or have one on the calendar, give yourself permission to experiment 👏 This first one will teach you a lot about the next one, and the next one will help inform the next one. Wanna see the 36th Goal Planning Party in action? 👀 Come to the next one happening this Thursday, October 31st at 12pm ET to map out your November (this is my favorite one of the year—I love setting intentions before the holidays really pick up) 🎉 Link in the comments.

Helping work-from-home humans thrive ✨ Tips on focus, creating boundaries to live life your way, & building friendships online 💃 Head of Community @ Groove
Slowing down to reflect is SUCH a gift! ✨ In the whirlwind of life (especially startup life!), it's easy to keep moving forward without pausing to appreciate the journey. That’s why I was so grateful when my friend David Nebinski, offered me the chance to do just that in his newsletter! As a teaser, here are 3 things I’ve become more comfortable with as a community builder since joining the Groove team in June 2021: 💡 Sharing half-baked ideas early, often, and loudly Nuggets of thoughts can spark the most incredible conversations for what to experiment with next. Some of my best insights have come from sharing what’s still in progress. ⏳ Protecting my time I used to feel really bad saying “no” to a coffee chat. Now? I’m almost 100% guilt-free when saying no. Boundaries are key to my daily life, and protecting my time means protecting my energy. I’ve learned to give myself just as much care (if not more) as I give to others. 🌱 Starting before I'm “ready” The magic isn't in having it all figured out. It’s in trusting yourself to fly the plane while it’s being built. And, hey, it might not work—even if it’s a great idea. It’s wild to think about how much I’ve grown and become “more me” in the last 3.5 years. If you (like me!) don’t have regular reflection and review cycles built into your career like a traditional job might, I highly recommend asking a friend to throw some reflective questions your way. It’s a great exercise! Want to read the actual meat of the post to understand how we went from a tiny beta community to a paid membership for hundreds of creatives and biz owners around the world? Founder at Divergently: Closing the support gap for late dx neurodivergent women. | Building without burnout.
I’ve been seeing an uptick in creators, influencers, writers, and founders including more nuance and varied perspectives in their work. I’m here for it!! 👏 After so much branding, marketing, algorithmic niching, and polarization siloing us into seperation, it’s time for us to come back together and see how much humanity we share. We’re doing it at Divergently by blending the latest science with diverse lived experiences to create content that’s discussed in a live community setting. Some people doing this well that I admire: • Joshua Greene 🪩 at Groove • Maura McInerney-Rowley Founder of Hello, Mortal • Halle Tecco, MPH, MBA • Angela Fusaro, MD, MBA Founder of Mom Talks • Elena Bridgers (Find her on IG or Substack) Where have you see nuance done well in life or business?

"Lifequakes." Have you ever heard the term? It came up in a deep conversation with Dr. Carlos Saba this week on our podcast, and it’s stuck with me since. But what does it actually mean? The short answer is that it can mean anything to any one person. - Illness - Redundancy - Relationship problems Anything that shocks you out of your day to day, and allows you to get a much wider perspective on your life. And it got me thinking… Our entire podcast is built around these Lifequakes. We explore the stories of people who’ve faced these changes and chosen new paths that align with who they are and the energy they bring. Our goal is simple: to give you the tools, stories, and insights to help you do the same. Carlos put it perfectly: “It’s more painful staying where you are, than the potential pain of risking to do something else.” Listen to the full episode in the comments below, and if this resonates, join us at Groove - where we’re redefining what it means to work and live authentically 🧡

A TALE OF TWO JOSHES - After 12 months of using Groove, Joshua Greene 🪩 and I got to meet up in-person. What started as a quick bite to eat at a vegan restaurant quickly turned into a Blue Ridge Mountain adventure I'll never forget :) Taylor Harrington 🪩 inspired me to give my LinkedIn cover photo a glow up by sharing some random fun facts about myself. Feel free to check it out if you haven't already but one important thing for you to know is I LOVE pretending to be a Virginia Tour Guide. Showing people the nooks and crannies of my region brings me so much joy. Couple that with my husband's love for road trips in our Tundra and you've got yourself a good ol' mountain time. I didn't know whether or not Josh Greene would be down for a trip up the parkway on that hot August day but when he said yes IT WAS A WRAP 😂 I swapped out my dress for a tank & biker shorts and away we went! I took him to one of my favorite spots for outdoor yoga and meditation by a creek, we stopped by Mountain Fruit to buy apples and jams and ended at the Bedford Visitors Center. Apparently they had never had a visitor from Jerusalem so that was such a sweet moment adding that to the visitors book. My husband Joshua Delivuk and I love hosting people here because there is something truly special about the Blue Ridge. No matter how much I love tech, you will always find me at outside at some point during the day, looking for Cardinals or a babbling brook. It keeps me sane and refuels me after staring at my screen all day. Before the week is over, I encourage you to schedule some time to take yourself for a walk. Touch some grass, get some sun and remember we WORK TO LIVE, not LIVE TO WORK. Lex Roman, Dr. Michael Tatonetti, CPP, CAE (he/him) make sure you pack some walking shoes. Can't wait to share the mountains with you soon :)

There’s no map for how to do life 'right.' 🗺️ In the latest Finding Your Groove episode, Dr. Carlos Saba hit on something that made me pause: “The past me saw life as something to win at. 🏆 At the end, there was a prize to be given. For the person with the best life. I didn’t really know the criteria, so I guessed based on what others were doing around me.” We spend so much time trying to follow some invisible guide—thinking there’s a ‘right’ way to succeed, like there’s a prize waiting for us at the finish line. 🏁 Carlos beautifully articulated: life isn’t actually about following a plan. It’s about embracing the unknown and trusting that we can handle whatever comes our way. The detours, the wrong turns—they might lead to our best moments. 🛣️ The ‘right’ turns could still surprise us with challenges. 🤯 The real journey is in each experience, each lesson that prepares us for whatever comes next. If you’ve been looking for a compass that allows you to enjoy the adventure vs. a map to race to the destination, this episode is for you. 🎙️ Check it out in the comments below. ⬇️

Who’s one person, who’s helped you connect with many incredible people? (Bonus: You could tag and thank them in the comments below) 🌍 Around 4 Years Ago… I told Tenzin Crouch over a coffee in Adelaide. “I feel isolated, I want to connect with more like minded people” Later he forwarded me a link to a program called... The Emerging leaders - which was led by Taylor Harrington 🪩 "Dam, I can’t do it I thought. It's during my Uni Classes, It also runs from around 11pm till 11am" But… I decided to flip my schedule around, and stop everything for a week. It surpassed my expectations. 4 years later this event led to sharing many great experiences with people in the program: From learning lots working on a start up in Sydney with Joe Wehbe & Scott McKeon for 6 months, whilst living in a shared house with Scott. 🙂 A great lunch in Harare with Athena Panton, LPEC visiting from the US, A lunch in Vancouver with Hannah Costello when she visited from Costa Rica. A catch up with Bennet in Seattle before I went to watch a Motocross Race. Since arriving in Vancouver earlier this year, Prakriti K. has been an incredible friend introducing to more awesome people. Randomly, I bumped into Scott Langille at a community he started called Atelier in Vancouver, that a friend Anujj Bubna told me to come to. Now in about 2 weeks I’m flying to L.A. and catching up with Sophia Heriveaux also from the group. If you want to experience Taylor Harrington 🪩community building magic. I highly recommend testing out Groove the Co-Working App that Taylor Harrington 🪩 is Head of Community at. On my first Groove I met, a tennis player and filmmaker and since then have met many cool people whilst increasing my productivity. I'm on a Groove as I write this post. I have no affiliation. It's just useful. Finally and most randomly... Last week my housemate referred me to an Acting School called Sonder. Where I participated in an Acting Competition over the weekend. 😆 I remembered Sonder being one of Taylor Harrington 🪩 favourite words. Which sparked the idea for this post. Thank you Taylor & Groove team for the awesome work you do! (And Tenzin Crouch for sending the link which led to many adventures 😉 ) I’m curious who’s one person, who’s helped you connect with many incredible people? (Bonus: You can tag and thank them in the comments below)

I was lucky to be invited to two intimate gatherings this month - 🎙️When David Nebinski, Community Lead at the Chief of Staff Network, invited me to join his group #podcast - Hot Pod - I was so excited! I've seen him posting about it and the concept intrigued me. It's a small group dinner combined with a podcast recording as a group. The topic for this episode was "how it got started" - how did your thing (company, community, project, passion, etc) get started? When I got to David's place I was a little nervous because I didn't know anyone else who would be there. I got into the elevator where there was a cute sign that said ‘you are awesome’ written by David:) that already helped ease my nerves a little. David was so kind and welcoming and pulled out this amazing card game called 'underrated / overrated' where each card has a random word on it - smores, fishing, sky diving etc. and everyone has to quickly choose what they feel about it. This automatically broke the tension and got everyone talking, laughing, sharing stories and automatically connecting over arbitrary things. It set the tone for the whole evening that was filled with interesting stories, authentic conversations and lots of laughter. ☕️ The second gathering was an early morning coffee hosted on the adorable rooftop of Taylor Harrington 🪩, Head of Community at Groove. There was a delicious spread and each person got to choose the mug they wanted:) I met some lovely, smart and interesting ladies. I enjoyed our conversations that felt more meaningful and intentional than just a random coffee chat. One of the things we spoke about was the concept of #identitycapital, which according to Dr. Meg Jay is “the repertoire of individual resources that we assemble over time. These are the investments we make in ourselves, the things we do well enough, or long enough, that they become a part of who we are. Identity capital is how we build ourselves — bit by bit, over time.” Basically it's showing up in every part of your life as your authentic self. In my opinion this describes Taylor perfectly. She shows up exactly how I thought she would from only following her content until meeting her in-person and it's so refreshing to meet such a genuine person like that. These gatherings truly capture the essence of those who created them. Taylor and David are #communitybuilders at their core (in addition to doing it as a profession) and it shows. I left with renewed energy, great conversations, new insights and knowledge and connections with quality people! I mentioned this in previous posts but I really love the people I get to meet and connect with through #Linkedin. I am grateful to be in the #community space and for these opportunities that have been coming my way during my job hunt and time in #NYC 😇

Can you even handle the cuteness?! Groove is the place I go for virtual co-working, but it's also the place I go to meet amazing people, get an off the cuff pep talk from a friend (looking at you Kate Haranis) or for a reminder that I'm not alone in this super cool but sometimes hard thing called entrepreneurship. If you're somewhere in between "I love working remotely" but "I feel kinda lonely" sometimes, Groove is the answer. And they also sent the sweetest happy mail! 📫 Want to be virtual co-workers?
