I had a great time hanging with my friends Darsh Patel on his Podcast Growth Street We discussed everything mental health, and how I specifically find a lot of today’s diagnoses to be over simplified. And my feeling on people being over medicated. I’m on my own mission to change the way people recieve mental health support and I’ve been very vocal on my challenge to the current system and current standards. If you’re curious about some new thoughts that challenge the current system, you can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eU5FmAss

The Harsh Truths About Landing Internships… These realities got me 5 internships in college. As someone who has navigated the internship and job landscape with experiences at top companies like LinkedIn, Microsoft and Bloomberg Industry Group I’m here to help you avoid the pitfalls I faced and give the secret sauce no one is telling about. 1. Forget Perfect Grades (You don’t need a 4.0) • Your GPA doesn’t define your worth or potential. • Focus on gaining real-world experiences that will set you apart. 2. Networking is Key • Building connections is essential; it’s not just about who you know, but how you leverage those relationships. • Reach out to professionals in your desired field on LinkedIn and ask for informational interviews. 3. Experience > Education • Real learning happens outside the classroom. • Seek internships, even unpaid ones, to build your resume and gain valuable skills. 4. Ask Questions and Seek Feedback • Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and ask for help. • Gathering insights from others can accelerate your learning and growth. 5. Embrace Rejection • Don’t let a “no” discourage you; each rejection is a step closer to the right opportunity. • Persistence pays off—keep pushing forward. 6. Get Involved on Campus • Join clubs and organizations that align with your interests. • Leadership experience will make you a more attractive candidate. 7. Share Your Journey • Use LinkedIn to document your experiences, share your learnings, and connect with others. • Showcasing your journey helps build your personal brand. These truths might be tough to hear, but they’re essential for navigating your career journey. Remember, comfort is the enemy of progress. If you want to dive deeper into these insights, check out my latest YouTube video where I break it all down. Which of these truths resonates with you the most? 💬 P.S. Repost this to help fellow students prepare for their future and follow me for more insights on navigating your career journey! #Internships #CareerAdvice #Networking #PersonalDevelopment #JobSearch

Past: Sales for LinkedIn, Bloomberg, D.C. United Now: Sales for My Company: Growth Street 👇 When I was in college, I was a bad student. I couldn’t get good grades, I couldn’t get into the business school, and I would just stop trying. It wasn’t for me. I had to figure out how to make college worth it, grow where I want, and where I can become skilled and valuable. So I asked myself. What do I like? And… What am I good at? Here were my answers: What do I like: talking to people, building relationships, helping people, sports, and competition What am I good at: making people smile, having great conversations, working hard, being creative … now what I had to find somewhere where I can do what I like and bring something that I am “good at”... to the table. I realized then... sales was for me… or so I was told. Fast forward I redesigned my entire college journey to optimize for this path. I chose the easiest major (least time consuming and easiest to pass)… communication I networked like crazy and made sure I have an internship every summer and every semester starting my sophomore year. What happened… I landed top marketing and sales roles for top companies like LinkedIn , Bloomberg Industry Group , D.C. United , Dashlane , Maryland Athletics , and more. I showed passionate, effort, hunger, and determination to everyone who I was involved with and working around and it paid off. Now I do sales for my own company, where we help provide real career development solutions to students across the country… Providing real help. To real people. Yes it’s hard… But DAMN does it feel good. #careerjourney #sales #college

This 22 year-old student has 300,000 followers. He built a brand. A following. A cult? (How👇) Best part is. He makes 5k+ a month while still being a student, studying exercise science at a top university… Wow. 1. He understood what what he brought to the table - determined his value to a specific audience 2. He then though, “How can I be even more different and valuable” - this makes you unique, what makes you… YOU 3. Post “every f*cking day” - Charlie has posted every day since 2020, and been consistent and committed to himself and his dream audience 4. He found what works. - He made so many kinds of videos… but once he found what worked… the road ahead revealed itself. Follow what works! 5. He says “Do that more… and be yourself” - people want to know you and follow you, FOR YOU… so be yourself or the person you want to become. Authenticity sells. Problem: Being Lonely Sucks. Solution: Find Your People. 👇 This picture with my co-ed business fraternity, Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity (Phi Chi Theta - Alpha Mu Chapter), captures a moment of joy after we won our soccer playoff intramural game. But it means so much more than just a win on the field... Before I joined this co-ed business fraternity, I felt alone at one of the biggest colleges in the world. I was far from home and uncertain about my place. But once I "found my people," everything changed. Surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who pushed me to be the best version of myself helped me grow in ways I never expected. I was able to get referrals from top companies like: IBM, Microsoft, Google, and even the role I chose at LinkedIn! If you look at the picture, I am proud to say my friends all work at top companies such as EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, Capital One, Bank of America, and more! Being part of a supportive community not only improved my personal development but also gave me a sense of belonging. I started enjoying life more—having fun with new friends, learning, and growing together. This concept is essential, whether you’re in high school, navigating college, a recent grad stepping into adulthood, or even someone looking to build connections later in life. So, how do you find your people? Here’s a simple framework: 1. Reflect on Your Interests: - What are you passionate about? Think about the activities or subjects that excite you. 2. Research Local Organizations: - Look for clubs, fraternities, or interest groups related to your passions. Universities, community centers, and online platforms (like Meetup) are great places to start. 3. Attend Events: - Go to meetups, workshops, or social gatherings. Put yourself out there—yes, it can feel daunting, but the right people are often waiting to connect! 4. Engage on Social Media: - Join relevant groups or follow pages that resonate with you. Engaging with like-minded individuals online can lead to real-life connections. 5. Be Open and Authentic: - Don’t be afraid to share your journey and experiences. Authenticity attracts the right people into your life. Finding your people is about building connections that uplift and inspire you. So, whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your circle, remember that a supportive community is out there, waiting for you. Let’s continue to uplift one another and create spaces where we can all thrive! #FindYourPeople #Community #PersonalGrowth #Networking #Belonging
