RPR Environmental @ Keystone Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Canadian customer, RPR Environmental, to tour our Keystone facility in Bath, PA. It was a fantastic two-way opportunity to showcase our kiln and discuss the processes that set us apart from the competition while also learning more about our customer’s needs and perspectives. We’re always excited to engage in collaborative exchanges that strengthen our partnerships and drive innovation. • GRR! Closing the Circle at EI Digest The 2024 EI Digest Gathering is an annual executive-level conference focused on the commercial management of hazardous and universal wastes in the United States and Canada. This year’s conference was held in San Diego, CA, and brought together leading companies in the environmental industry. GRR! was represented by Steve Holt, Charles Murray, Ken Bolcar, and Dale Welch. Our team hosted one of the conference receptions and participated in several panel discussions. Charles Murray, Director of Operations, took part in the Transportation Services Company Update and Market Outlook Panel. This panel addressed the impact of transportation on disposal costs and best practices for ensuring safety and environmental excellence. Dale Welch, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, participated in the Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Energy Recovery Market Outlook Panel. The panel explored the evolution of waste-derived fuel from past to present and the challenges facing the industry in the coming years. Dale, was also honored to help present Howard Ray of Republic Services with the Jim Hattler Award. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding commitment to the environmental industry, dedication to family, and support for industry peers. Congratulations to Howard Ray on this well-deserved recognition! #EIDigest #WeCloseTheCircle #EnergyRecovery #EnvironmentalIndustry

  • Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month 2024 "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together" From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize the history, culture, and diversity of Hispanic Americans. Their heritage comes from Spain and 19 countries and territories, including places like Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and more. This month is special because it highlights the independence days of several Latin American countries. On September 15, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras celebrate their independence, followed by Mexico on September 16 and Chile on September 18. Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day in mid-October also falls within this celebration period. At GRR!, we are proud to celebrate the contributions of Hispanic Americans and their impact on shaping the future. We believe in building a workplace that values diversity and community. #HispanicHeritageMonth #PioneersOfChange #ShapingTheFutureTogether #WeCloseTheCircle

  • It is with both sadness and happiness that we announce the retirement of Gary Cappelletti. Gary has been a stalwart and an institution at GRR!, even before GRR! existed. He began as a regional Sales Representative for Southeastern Chemical & Solvent Company (which later merged with M&M Chemical, became Omni-Southeastern Chemical Solvents, and eventually became part of Giant Cement, then Giant Resource Recovery). Almost thirty-three years ago, in January 1992, Gary began his journey. Over the years, he has been responsible for managing countless projects and serving customers with exceptional professionalism. On August 30th, Gary rode off into the sunset—fittingly, on a golf cart. Please join us in congratulating Gary on a career well done and in wishing him the very best in his retirement. Thank you, Gary, Congrats and well deserved!

At Keystone Plant, our lab plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient use of high-energy alternative fuels in our energy recovery and cement production processes. Working hand by hand with GRR! and analyzing all liquid waste intended for use as high-energy fuel, the lab facilitates the safe integration of these materials into production, reducing the use of traditional fuels such as coal and natural gas. As a Pennsylvania Environmental Accredited Laboratory, we received Certificate of Accreditation No. 18 this past June, reflecting our ongoing compliance with the Accreditation Act and regulations of 25 Pa. Code Chapter 252. To uphold these high standards, our lab participates in two proficiency studies annually, consistently earning certificates of excellence. Led by our esteemed Fuel Laboratory Manager, Mechella Saba, and supported by the dedicated lab team—Olivia Crouthamel, Megan Cole, Jacob Hoats, Chuck Parisi and Katherine Giambra—the lab not only analyzes waste fuels but also tests materials such as coal, kiln feed, and cement kiln dust to ensure they meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. This comprehensive testing is crucial to the company’s energy recovery efforts and ensures the production of high-quality cement while playing a significant role in minimizing environmental impact. By meticulously overseeing the safe incorporation of waste fuels into cement production, our lab is a key contributor to our broader mission of sustainability. #Keystone #EnergyRecovery #AlternativeFuels #HighQualityCement #GRRKeystone #WasteToEnergy #LabExcellence #Accreditation #CementWithShadesOfGreen

  • We are so happy for you Gina!! Thank you for all you have done for GRR! and our customers and we hope you enjoy your retirement!!

GRR's very own Gina Powell will retire this August 31st, after nearly 40 years in the hazardous waste industry. Gina's career in the waste business began in 1984 when she started as a waste tracker with Fisher Environmental. Recognizing her talent for customer interaction, the owners soon offered her a position in sales. Gina quickly excelled in her new role, building a strong customer base—many of whom she still serves today. "Her customers love her as much as she loves them, and they have all expressed how much they will miss her friendship, perhaps even more than their business relationship. That’s a legacy we should all aspire to achieve. GRR! cannot express enough our love and appreciation for Gina Powell. This is a bittersweet time for us, as her large personality and presence will be greatly missed. At the same time, we recognize the importance of her dedicating time andenergy to herself and her family after a job well done. "—said Ken Bolcar, Gulf Coast Commercial Manager— We will miss Gina immensely and wish her nothing but the best as she embarks on this next chapter of her life. A big thank you!
