Delivery to empower everyday convenience.

About us

Grubhub is a leading food-ordering and delivery marketplace on a mission to empower everyday convenience and champion merchants from coast to coast. Grubhub is part of Just Eat Takeaway.com, a global online food delivery marketplace, featuring numerous merchants in over 4,000 U.S. cities. Restaurants, grocery, and local merchants are the core of our offering—and the heart of the communities we serve. Our mission is to strengthen our roots, deepen our connections, and increase our positive impact. We strive to help merchants grow their businesses and experiment with new concepts. Our community is powered by thousands of drivers around the country. We provide drivers with flexible opportunities to work and earn on their own schedules—and keep 100% of the tips they earn while they deliver. Together with our merchants and drivers, we give customers more options for delivery, whether it’s their go-to meal from their favorite local restaurant, or a craving to discover something new. Through the Grubhub Community Fund, we have given more than $70 million to charitable organizations and communities nationwide since 2020. Focusing on supporting independent restaurants, helping close the hunger gap, and creating more opportunities for people in the hospitality industry, we forge nationwide partnerships that strengthen our competitiveness in the marketplace, attract and retain the best talent, and show customers how we support the communities they live in. Since we opened our doors in Chicago in 2004, Grubhub has been opening doors all across the country. With thousands of merchants nationwide, Grubhub delivers the best local, authentic cuisine right to diners’ doors—and new customers and billions in revenue to local businesses. And that helps open even more doors. Bakery doors in Hyde Park. Jibarito joint doors in Queens. And doors of opportunity all across the country. Grubhub. Delivering joy. Guaranteed.

Helping close the hunger gap is one of our key community impact focus areas. With the support of the Grubhub Community Fund, we serve as a community partner and industry leader in the effort to reduce food insecurity, and recover and redirect food that would otherwise go to waste. Before Hunger Action Month comes to a close, we wanted to highlight Grubhub’s first-ever office-wide volunteer day in our hometown, where 100+ employees repacked shipments of more than 25,00 pounds of peppers, bread and beans to help the Greater Chicago Food Depository properly and efficiently distribute quality food to participating food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in Cook County. The team had such a fun day giving back to our local community and can’t wait for more volunteer opportunities ahead!

Earlier this week, Grubhub hosted its first-ever Food Feastival at Chicago’s Daley Plaza as part of our ongoing 20th anniversary celebration. The event brought together THOUSANDS of people including local small businesses owners, our Chicago-based Grubhub team and business partners, and our hungry diners to honor the hometown restaurants who make Chicago’s food scene so special. In total, twenty local restaurants participated, offering more than 12,000 bites of their signature dishes – including everything from deep dish pizza and Chicago-style dogs to pad thai and shrimp & grits. Jewel-Osco even jumped in on the fun to donate water for the event! A huge thank you to everyone who attended – especially all the amazing merchant partners who made this celebration possible. Here’s to the next 20 years!

Thank you Contagious for recognizing the Grubhub Special Delivery campaign as 'Campaign of the Week'! This recognition is a testament to the impact the campaign has made and the incredible feedback received from moms and their support networks. Grubhub is all about delivering joy during life’s biggest moments, and with Special Delivery, we did just that by sponsoring moms’ first meal after giving birth - the one they’ve been dreaming of and craving for the last 9 months. And we did it during August, the peak month for baby deliveries in the U.S.! A big thank you to our agency partner Golin for bringing this vision to life. Proud to work with Grubhub Community Fund partners like Food Bank For New York City who share our same commitment to helping close the hunger gap -- during Hunger Action Month and beyond!

This #HungerActionMonth, we’re putting the focus on NYC families, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet. Even with two workers in the home, 1 in 3 households can’t afford groceries or rent on earnings alone. They need us to fill in the gaps, so we need you. All month long, we'll be sharing stories of families whose lives are touched by your generosity. Join us in empowering every New Yorker to achieve food security for good! A special thank you to our long-time partner Grubhub for powering our 2024 Hunger Action Month and year-round efforts to close the hunger gap with support made possible by the Grubhub Community Fund.

We caught up with Rob DelaCruz, Vice President and General Manager of Grubhub’s campus business, just in time for students and faculty return to campus across the country for the start of the fall semester. He shares his perspective on the campus business evolution over the past year, his team’s record achievements for the 2023-2024 school year, and his approach to fostering a culture that continues to drive momentum. Ahead of the school year, we added more than 60 new university partners, and now reach more than 4.5 million students who can connect their meal plans to Grubhub to skip the line when they order food from on- and off-campus restaurants. We’ve also grown the number of campus partners using our innovative services and solutions that redefine the campus dining experience, including robot delivery, Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Topanga.io reusable containers. Last week, over 160 employees in Grubhub’s hometown of Chicago visited neighborhoods all across the city to express our gratitude and appreciation to over 650 restaurant partners as a part of our 20th anniversary celebration. As our team installed new Grubhub signage and provided some extra surprises for restaurant employees, we had a lot of fun along the way. Our team had the chance to hear stories and future plans directly from restaurant owners, get outside and explore the city with our colleagues, and most importantly, express our gratitude for many of the hometown restaurant partners who help make Grubhub possible. To our restaurant partners, thank you again for the past 20 years. Here’s to many more!
