This morning, we had a blast hosting the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce for a Coffee Chat! ☕ It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local business leaders, exchange ideas, and share all the ways Girl Scouts is making a difference right here in our community. Our guests enjoyed a tour of our space, learned about the impactful programs Girl Scouts offers for girls of all ages, and – of course – took home a box of our beloved Girl Scout Cookies! 🍪🌟 Thank you to everyone who joined us to learn more about empowering young leaders and building a brighter future together. Badgerland Girl Scouts had an amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes with Plastic Ingenuity and explore the full journey of how cookie trays and packaging are made—from concept to creation! 🍪✨ Throughout the day, they gained hands-on experience in key stages of the manufacturing process: freelancing the design, creating molds and prototypes, mass production, and quality inspection. The final station focused on sustainability and recycling, highlighting the importance of eco-friendly practices in today’s industry. 🌍♻️ This program was more than just a tour—it opened our Girl Scouts’ eyes to exciting career paths in design, engineering, manufacturing, and sustainability. 🎉 We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new Girl Scouts La Crosse Area Leadership Center! Today’s ribbon-cutting celebration is the start of a vibrant, new chapter for Girl Scouts in the community and we couldn't be more proud to rededicate ourselves to empowering local girls in our colorful, dynamic, and inspiring space. Many thanks to the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Onalaska Mayor Kim Smith, and community leader Vicki Markussen for their warm welcome at today’s event. Mayor Kim, a former Girl Scout troop leader, spoke of her pride in seeing firsthand the incredible impact Girl Scouts has on young girls—including her own daughters. Vicki Markussen, a longtime volunteer and member of our Board of Directors, played a pivotal role in securing this new space for our Girl Scouts. During the ribbon-cutting, she reflected on the promise of Girl Scouting to build community, foster relationships, and nurture the development of future leaders. Wisconsin Badgerland CEO Lisa Smith. MSOL Smith also shared her excitement, noting that today’s celebration is a shining example of the bright future that lies ahead for our Girl Scouts. She noted that this center is a launching pad for futures filled with confidence, exploration, and growth. A heartfelt thank you to Jeni Hallatt, MHA, FACHE for her extraordinary leadership and dedication as Chair of the Badgerland Board of Directors. 🌟 After six years of dedicated service on the board, Jeni is transitioning out of her role, but her impact on Badgerland and Girl Scouts will resonate for years to come. From her beginnings as a troop leader in Rock and Walworth counties, to serving as a founding member of the Badgerland Council Delegates, and later leading as Board Chair for over two years—Jeni has been a true champion for girls and volunteers alike. 💚 We’re excited that Jeni’s leadership journey with Girl Scouts doesn’t end here. She will continue to advocate for the movement as a member of the Girl Scouts of the USA National Council Session Advisory Team, sharing her expertise, leadership, and passion with Girl Scouts nationwide. Linnea Anderson, a founding member of CampHERO and a dedicated volunteer, has been awarded the prestigious GSUSA Honor Pin for her exemplary service across multiple Girl Scouts of Badgerland service units. As a firefighter and paramedic, Linnea brings her professional expertise to the CampHERO program, which introduces Girl Scouts to careers in the protective services. Her work has empowered hundreds of girls to build confidence and develop essential skills through hands-on activities. Thank you, Linnea, for your outstanding leadership! 

Jennifer Hamill, a key member of the Highest Awards Committee, has been recognized with the GSUSA Honor Pin for her outstanding service to multiple Girl Scouts of Badgerland service units. Jennifer’s leadership on the Logistics Committee has streamlined operations and enhanced the experience for Girl Scouts pursuing their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Jennifer’s commitment to ensuring that each Girl Scout receives the support they need to succeed in their Highest Awards journey has been transformative.
