    GTG’s own Nic Allen, y’all

It is in many horror movies... the realization that the threatening phone calls have been coming from INSIDE the house all along. In today's world, that's not a plot device; it's reality. Over 30% of phishing #CyberThreats emanate from internal sources. Whether it be an employee unintentionally clicking a malicious link, a compromised account, or an email from a trusted business partner requesting their payment be authorized differently than usual. Many security providers focus on external threats while ignoring their internal counterparts. GTG.Online Inspector and Enterprise analyze internal traffic for indications of business email compromise, utilizing our non-repudiated method of ensuring email source authenticity. It isn't enough anymore to secure our environments from external threat vectors; we must also consider the threat from within. If you have any questions, I'd love to schedule time to discuss how GTG can provide an additional layer of security to protect your business from the inside out. #ThreatDetection #GTGOnline #Phishing

Chief Executive Officer, GTG.Online: Next-Generation Anti-Phishing and Email Security

I began my journey as an Email Administrator with PINE, enjoyed working with Groupwise, avoided Domino, shared stories of Exchange 5.5 with my therapist, marveled at Gmail, and facepalmed with M365. All my field experience has led me to believe that non-repudiation is the only way to truly solve the phishing and BEC problem. DMARC is missing the mark when it comes to comprehensive email security. A common example of its shortfall is Typosquatting. This attack is like using a fake license plate to commit crimes—while it appears legitimate at a glance, it’s an easy way for attackers to bypass detection. Most current email security platforms prioritize content inspection before identity verification. It’s like if TSA screened everyone who showed up at the airport before checking if they even had a valid ticket. AI is extremely costly for software companies to deploy. Why analyze junk data before verifying its authenticity? This approach only drives up cloud costs and undermines the effectiveness of data models. Book a demo with Kent Dahlgren, Nic Allen, Jacklyn Westbrook, or any member of the GTG.Online team to discover how our experience-based approach is resonating with early adopters.

Important update for our community - Microsoft Threat Intelligence has observed Russian threat actor Midnight Blizzard sending a series of highly targeted spear-phishing emails to individuals in government, academia, defense, non-governmental organizations, and other sectors. This activity is ongoing, and Microsoft will continue to investigate and provide updates as available. Based on our investigation of previous Midnight Blizzard spear-phishing campaigns, we assess that the goal of this operation is likely intelligence collection. Please see our detailed blog here and please be vigilant. https://lnkd.in/gnzjwnub

Internal actors—the people that work for your company and have legitimate access to your data—now account for 35% of all incidents, up from 20% last year. (Source: 2024 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR)). Q: so why do most email security vendors ignore "internal-to-internal" email? And why did GTG.Online focus on addressing this internal threat first? Article: https://lnkd.in/gVhWmyQT

Despite the marketing hype, your Red Team isn’t about to be replaced by an AI solution—it’s more likely to be replaced by a skilled security practitioner using AI. When I see software engineers or marketing folks discussing cyber tradecraft, I often check their field experience. Spoiler: it’s usually zero. Always click on the bio and look into what someone has actually done before you take them at their word. Internal Email - the Security Industry's Costly Blind Spot "Email security vendors often overlook an expensive fraud vector, and it may be costing their customers billions Vendor assumptions regarding the threat of internal email run counter to findings from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst and Young (E&Y), the US Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, and the Secret Service regarding fraud, theft, waste, and abuse." Chief Executive Officer, GTG.Online: Next-Generation Anti-Phishing and Email Security

Train Like You Fight. At GTG.Online, we believe in cross-functional collaboration from day one. Our sales team attends product and engineering meetings as part of their onboarding process, fostering trust in both the product and each other. It’s how we ensure that everyone is aligned with our mission. After witnessing misalignment in organizations for years, I made it a priority to integrate Sales, Product, and Engineering teams. Their compensation and performance evaluations are directly tied to each other’s success, a key factor in driving our achievements. The image below captures a proud moment when a recent sales hire—someone with no prior experience in product management—submitted a Product Requirements Document (PRD) for a new application based on our existing capabilities. After completing onboarding, they used OpenAI’s ChatGPT to learn how to draft a PRD and successfully pitched it to our Head of Product Management. That solution is now a part of our roadmap. I’ve stood up to bullies my entire life, and at GTG.Online, we’ve created a culture that rewards hard work, drive, and contributions from everyone, regardless of their title. Stay tuned for more information on our expansion into Digital Risk Protection Services (#DRPS). #EmailSecurity #ProductDevelopment #CrossFunctionalCollaboration #InnovationCulture #OnboardingSuccess #PRD #OpenAI #ChatGPT #DigitalRiskProtection #GTGOnline #Teamwork #TechInnovation #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #DriveToSucceed #FutureOfWork
