Helping the world's ten million factories reach sustainable peak performance
About us
Guidewheel is on a mission to empower all the world’s factories to reach sustainable peak performance. Inspired by the simple, universal truth that every machine on the factory floor has a power cord, our plug-and-play FactoryOps platform makes the power of the cloud accessible to any factory. Guidewheel clips onto any machine to turn its real-time “heartbeat” into a connected, actively learning system that empowers teams to reduce lost production time, increase throughput, and perform better and better over time. At Guidewheel we work with the factories that are the backbone of our economy, and you can have a real, on-the-ground impact right away. We have strong momentum and alignment around our mission, investor support, and a culture that values diversity, growth mindset, and results. And the tight link between our mission and our business model means that reaching more of the world’s 10 million factories accelerates our positive impact on the planet. With backing from Greycroft, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and other top investors, we're opening up a number of exciting opportunities to lead and have a real, immediate impact on both our growing team and the factories that are the backbone of the economy.

We had an amazing time visiting the UrthPact West team last week in Lincoln, CA! A sincere thank you to the entire Urthpact team for hosting us and for being such a valued customer since 2022. Special thanks to Rhett Thrasher, Daniel Corfman, Shannon Carnes, and Zach Thrasher for their generosity in welcoming us into their facility and walking us through their operations. The Urthpact West team, who make foodware from earth-friendly materials, are working with Guidewheel to help drive efficiencies on their injection molding lines and dryers. By closely tracking uptime and downtime events, they can proactively address issues on their machines and operationalize production. We’re excited to continue partnering with Urthpact and are looking forward to visiting their East plant later this month.

We're on a mission to empower all the world’s factories to reach sustainable peak performance. It's good for business and good for the planet. Grateful for our partners at Breakthrough Energy and Siemens who play a vital role in transforming this mission into reality. If you'd like to learn more, we'd love to connect with you through try.guidewheel.com/connect
Our founder Bill Gates joined the annual Siemens leadership conference in Munich today, hosted by Siemens President and CEO, Roland Busch, to recognize the strong partnership we are developing between our organizations. Siemens stands out not only as a global industrial technology leader - ~€77.8B revenue, ~€6.2B R&D expenditures, business operations underpinning industries from electricity, to transportation, manufacturing and buildings - but also as a first mover leaning into the deployment and scale-up of climate technologies, including some developed by Breakthrough Energy-backed companies. Take Guidewheel (Lauren Dunford), which improves efficiency of factory operations, lowers emissions and will deliver real-time data to Siemens' product carbon footprint tool SiGREEN. Or LuxWall, Inc., which will reduce emissions from Siemens-owned buildings with its window solutions. All of this supports Siemens' ambitious 2030 net zero targets and scales up important climate solutions - today. It's a great example for other large corporations to follow. And there is more that we can work on together. Thank you for the good collaboration to date, Barbara Humpton, Alex Stuebler, Aneesh Bhardwaj, Christian Franz, much of which has been led on our side by my colleague Nishant B.. It was also a pleasure to meet other members of Siemens leadership together with my colleague Ann Mettler, including Sabine Erlinghagen, Peter Koerte and Jim Hagemann Snabe. #climatetech #cleantech #industrialtransformation

Thank you to our partners at The US Center for Advanced Manufacturing, LIFT, and Kearney, for the opportunity to lead a tour of Guidewheel within the Kearney Digital Model Factory. Guidewheel's CEO, Lauren Dunford, discussed best practices for leveraging innovation with US Center for Advanced Manufacturing CEO, Cynthia Hutchison, Kearney Partner and Americas Automotive and Industrials Lead, Doug Mehl, and LIFT’s Senior Director, Christine Longroy. The discussion offered valuable insight into how manufacturers can realize the potential from new innovations by focusing on technologies with fast time to value and building clear change management plans. Created in partnership with the LIFT Manufacturing Institute, the Digital Model Factory (DMF) allows participants to explore how Industry 4.0 (i4.0) technologies can add value in operations efficiency, safety, and quality through an engaging, hands-on learning experience. So valuable to see several technologies discussed in the panel live in action at the DMF!
Following the Innovation Summit, attendees enjoyed an exclusive tour of the LIFT Facility – thanks to our collaboration with Guidewheel and Kearney. 💡 On this tour, we had the chance to see Guidewheel and another partner of ours – Lightguide Systems – showcase their groundbreaking tech that’s driving real change in manufacturing. The tour sparked some great conversations about future collaborations and highlighted Detroit’s role as a growing hub of innovation – a powerful reminder of how cross-industry partnerships can push manufacturing forward. ⤴ Special thanks to these incredible panelists for joining us: ▸ Paul Ryznar, CEO and Founder, LightGuide ▸ Lauren Dunford, CEO and Co-Founder, Guidewheel ▸ Doug Mehl, Partner and Americas Lead, A.T.
