Gulf Winds International, a leading third-party logistics company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Doss as its new CEO, effective August 5, 2024. This transition follows the retirement of BJ Tarver, who has provided 25 years of exemplary service to the company as its CEO and many other roles throughout his career at the company. BJ will remain a member of the company’s board of directors. BJ has been instrumental in Gulf Winds’ growth and success, overseeing significant milestones and contributing to the company's esteemed reputation in the industry. Under his leadership, Gulf Winds grew from a small Houston trucking company to a nationwide company with approximately 900 trucks and over one million square feet of warehouse space with terminal locations in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Mobile, Memphis, Savannah, Charleston, Norfolk, Chicago, and Baltimore. “It has been a tremendous honor to serve Gulf Winds over the past 25 years, and I’m proud of what we have accomplished together. We are in an exciting growth stage at Gulf Winds, and I’m confident in the company’s future under Michael’s leadership,” said Tarver. Michael brings a wealth of experience and a visionary approach to Gulf Winds. With a background in a wide range of business environments and transactions, most recently as CEO of FTS International, Michael is poised to lead the company into its next chapter of innovation and growth. “I’m thrilled to join Gulf Winds and build upon the solid foundation established by BJ and the Gulf Winds team. Together, we will drive the company forward and continue our tradition of excellence and world-class logistics services,” said Doss.
