Gurls Talk in the news! 💫 In celebration of World Mental Health Day, we were so excited to be featured on Pix 11 to share more about Gurls Talk and the work we do to support and promote the mental health of girls and young women. During the interview, we highlighted the mural we created with and for girls, in collaboration with Groundswell, Colossal Media and artist Lina Montoya. This mural symbolizes the strength and power of community, the importance of asking for help, and the reminder that none of us are alone in this journey. It’s an honor to continue spreading this message, and we’re committed to reaching even more communities to ensure girls receive the support they need. Make sure to stop by and see the mural in Williamsburg at 32 Berry Street, and follow our work as we keep uplifting and advocating for girls’ mental health. #WorldMentalHealthDay #GurlsTalk #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportGirls #Community Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g_S3UTKE

🚨 Exciting news! 🚨 We’re thrilled to announce that the Coach in Your Corner Toolkit is officially live! 🎉 This comprehensive resource has been carefully designed to help coaches support the mental health and well-being of the adolescent girls they mentor, combining education, tools, and strategies to create safe and empowering environments. From practical tips to expert insights, the toolkit is a key step toward building a strong network of mental health support. Research shows that all it takes is one stable adult in a child’s life to make a difference, and in many communities, that adult is a coach. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to build a strong community of practice around mental health, creating a robust support network for girls and ensuring they have the resources and care they need to thrive both in sport and in life. We invite you to explore the toolkit and share it with your community! Together, we can foster resilience, promote mental health awareness, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of girls. A huge thank you to Nike for supporting this work and to the amazing team at FGS Global for helping bring this project to life! 👉 Check it out here: ciyctoolkit.gurlstalk.com

🌟 Calling All Teenage Girls & Their Parents! 🌟 Parents play a crucial role in supporting girls’ mental health, but many lack the tools and resources to do so effectively. That’s where we come in.   We’re thrilled to introduce a groundbreaking research study and parenting toolkit aimed at supporting the mental health of teenage girls, ages 11 to 17. Led by Dr. Cindy Huang and her team at Columbia University’s Teachers College, this comprehensive resource will empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge, language, and tools they need to confidently support their daughters.   What’s Happening: ⭐️ Research Study: Dr. Huang and her team will be conducting focus groups and interviews with both parents and girls to explore the most pressing mental health challenges. ⭐️ Toolkit Development: Insights from this research will shape a powerful, accessible toolkit for parents. ⭐️ Outreach & Impact: We’ll be sharing this toolkit across digital platforms to reach as many families as possible. Get Involved: Help shape this vital resource by signing up to participate in our research. Your voice matters!   A Special Thanks: This initiative is made possible by the generous funding from the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation and the invaluable collaboration of Cindy Huang, Daniella Lucio, and Annie Fanta.   Let’s empower families to navigate mental health challenges with confidence and compassion. Last night, we had the immense pleasure of hosting the GURLS TALK Fundraiser in London. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and supported this meaningful event. Thanks to our incredible sponsors, Jo Malone London, Kurt Geiger, and Barbie. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Gurls Talk Executive Director Daniella Raveh and our founder Adwoa Aboah for their inspiring remarks, and to Miquita Oliver for hosting the evening with such grace and enthusiasm. As a society, we have made great strides in discussing mental health issues and reducing stigma, a key barrier to care. Despite this progress, alarming statistics and headlines reveal a decline in young people’s mental health. However, together, we have the opportunity to reimagine and shape a better future for our youth. The impact of this night is profound, and we promise to continue our commitment to supporting the mental health of girls across the globe. Thank you for standing with us in this vital journey. #GurlsTalk #mentalhealthmatters
