Fall is in the air, the temps are mellowing out and the leaves are starting to play peek a boo with us! 🍂 I love this time of year. Autumn is the perfect metaphor for change, new beginnings, the chance to shed the old ways and await the new ones. 🍁 Have you been seeing any signs of autumn around you? This was taken by me outside the office, where we get a stellar view of the changing leaves! Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and enjoy the beautiful weather we have coming!

Family businesses face unique challenges during generational transitions. In Sonoma and Napa, some are finding creative ways to preserve their legacy, like Pedroncelli Winery, which thrives by staying true to family values. Others, like Wm Cofield Cheesemakers, are exploring worker ownership as a way to embrace change. It's all about balancing tradition and innovation to keep the business alive for future generations. This is why succession planning is so important! Check out the full story here and let it inspire you to think about your own plan of succession! https://lnkd.in/dEgBeSRd

"I am woman phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, that's me." - Maya Angelou 🌹 Phenomenal indeed! GWCPA had the immense honor of participating in the annual Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) 2024 Women to Watch Awards, their 10th one to date to celebrate powerful inspiring women who were honored and recognized yesterday. While these are only a fraction of the photos taken, they encapsulate the glowing vibe of the ceremony that took place at Maryland Live Casino in Hanover. 🎉 30 honorees, all incredible women in their own right took the stage to be presented with accolades of their accomplishments and recognition of what they bring to the table, both in their professional and personal lives. Headed by the charismatic and vivacious Kimberly N. Ellison-Taylor, the ceremony aims to shine a spotlight on women in the challenging world of accounting and to celebrate their navigational journeys in the face of adversity. Our partner Samantha Bowling, CPA CFE CGMA took the stage alongside other women who have excelled in their field to give advice on what it means to be a leader, how to balance work and home life, and what to do when you are stuck in a place that does not value you or your time. We found the whole experience to be enlightening, enriching and above all, inspiring. ✨ Congratulations to all the honorees and this year's winners of the prestigious award, it was well deserved and worthy of recognition! We can't wait until next year to see more empowerment from women who surely deserve it. 🌼 #Accounting #powerfulwomen #womenbusinessleaders #cpa #empowerment
