A nationally recognized local nonprofit, our mission is to connect people and resources for a sustainable Gwinnett.
About us
Launched in 1980 by a group of caring community members, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful has spent the last four decades serving as a catalyst to a hyper-local, Mother Earth-centric movement. As a Keep America Beautiful-affiliated nonprofit, we strive to seek out, empower and grow our network of other caring community members to take action on behalf of our local cities, the surrounding environment and our county at large. By doing so, we are creating and sustaining communities that are economically sound, environmentally healthy and socially connected. More than that, we are fostering a new generation of environmental stewards and cultivating a sense of social responsibility among our movement members to care for our corner of the world – now and far into the future. Guided by a Citizen’s Advisory Board showcasing some of Gwinnett County’s most admired leaders, our existence is based on the creation of a community where individuals, families, organizations, small businesses, large corporations, institutions and municipalities take greater responsibility to improve our water, land, air and lives. When we all pitch in, our environment, our community, our families and our industries THRIVE! Together, we can keep Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. After all, if we don’t… who will?

This past Saturday, our friends at Gwinnett County Government Department of Water Resources held their annual Trick or Treatment Fall Festival at the Yellow River Water Reclamation Facility. Our team members - Kim and Carmita - had a booootiful time with our Gwinnett County neighbors. It was a day full of ghouls and booooys, young and old, 618 in total! Thank you to all who came to enjoy the day with us! We hope to see you again next year!

We are proud to present the 2024-2025 Youth Advisory Council, which comprises 27 students from 13 high schools across Gwinnett County. On October 25th, GC&B hosted a kick-off event at The Manor, the office of our Board’s Chairwoman, Pam Ledbetter. GYAC members have been tasked with either developing and implementing a new environmental program or expanding an existing one at their school. Wasting no time, they quickly began brainstorming, and we cannot wait to share their project ideas after they present them at next month’s meeting. Gwinnett County Public Schools Buford City Schools

Tonight marks #HowlAtTheMoonNight! While that's most often associated with werewolves and a full moon, tonight's moon will actually be a waning crescent moon. That's when the moon's illumination is decreased, and it appears like a glowing banana in the sky. Marking the phase just before the new moon, it is believed to be a time of reflection and preparation for new beginnings.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT! Berkmar HS seniors and leaders of their school’s Nature Society, Tiffany Castro and Joya Chen, took part in our Great Days of Service Litter Pickup in partnership with a Georgia Piedmont Land Trust wetland property. When asked why she participated and worked so hard, Tiffany said, “I really enjoyed everything about the event. It's nice to know I'm doing nature some good during my free time. It's way better when I have a friend who has the same passion and willingness to do an activity that’s intimidating and not the cleanest. But the laughs, memories, and, most importantly, environmental work make the world a better place for not just me but my community as a whole. It's a team effort to get the Earth back to a healthy state!” #Volunteer #GreatDaysofService #GivingBack #Environment
