Congratulations to our latest Daisy Awardee, Haily Artz, RN, and Sunshine Awardee, Darraine Nicoles, PCT! Since 1999, DAISY has been honoring nurses who provide above-and-beyond compassionate care to patients and families. While the DAISY Award recognizes nurses, the Sunshine Award recognizes extraordinary non-nursing caregivers who support our nursing staff and work closely with them to provide patients with the compassion and care they need. Job well done Haily and Darraine, we're so proud you're a part of our team!

We're honored to recognize the Clinical Nutrition team for their contributions to CLABSI (Central line-associated bloodstream infection) prevention and most importantly, the prevention of patient harm. Under the leadership of Priscilla Dhas, our dietitians evaluate the nutrition needs of patients and the appropriateness of vascular access as it relates to nutrition support. Their daily assessments, escalation of care, and collaboration with the Quality Department have prevented potential CLABSI incidents. Thank you to this team for your commitment to patient safety and excellence in service! #GWProud

In today's edition of #GWProud, we're spotlighting, Ashley Degner, a member of our Laboratory team. Recently one of Ashley's colleagues had an urgent and difficult request for a patient who was very ill. Through her expertise and skill, Ashley was able to provide the required stains and then provided a microorganism stain when that was requested. The pathology team was extremely grateful that Ashley was not only able to fulfill that request but do so in an accurate and timely manner. Great job Ashley, we're thrilled you're a part of our team!
