To our clients, vendors, and friends: We’re grateful to share that everyone at Gyre9 is safe, and our facility experienced minimal impact. However, Southbury, Oxford, and the surrounding areas have suffered significant damage from Sunday’s storm, which brought nearly 12 inches of rain in a short period. Many roads and buildings were affected, and it will take some time for the area to recover. Thank you to the rescue, fire, police etc. that are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe. If you’re planning to visit our facility, please reach out to us—we’re happy to assist in finding the safest route to get here.

Jackie Tonini, Operations Manager, is proud to have had her daughter, Lily Teran, interning at Gyre9 this summer. Known for its cutting-edge product design and engineering solutions, Gyre9 is the perfect place for Lily to develop her administrative skills and gain practical experience as part of her community service requirements at Woodland High School in Beacon Falls. From day one, Lily has made a significant impact on the project team. She has been instrumental in assisting Anne Ryan, a veteran Project Manager at Gyre9, with daily tasks needed to get the job done. Under Anne's guidance, Lily has fully immersed herself in the team, gaining valuable insights during staff meetings and learning how to effectively communicate ideas and understand the basics of office administration. Thank you, Lily, for your assistance. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best as you begin your sophomore year at Woodland High.

I had an absolute blast touring the Gyre9 facility in Southbury today with the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments teams. Although they design, engineer, and manufacture a number of products, their specialty is EV charging stations. As an EV owner and advocate, it was so enlightening to see the process this team goes through to take a charging unit from dream to draft to done! Our state needs to mobilize companies like Gyre9 to deploy more EV charging infrastructure. This will help our communities meet growing demand, reduce fossil fuel dependency, and provide high quality jobs for Connecticut residents.

Testing During Product Development Reduces Time to Market Gyre9's Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, Elana Abrams, talks about our environmental chamber and how we use it to validate a product's ability to withstand extreme environments. This environmental testing is also used to perform accelerated life testing by simulating years of temperature and humidity cycles in a very short period of time. Doing this helps us quickly identify potential issues, or risk areas, early in the development process. Continuous testing and feedback can significantly enhance the development processes, ensuring that the end products are robust, reliable, and ready for real world challenges.
