We are grateful for The Home Depot Foundation's partnership on a recent Critical Home Repair project in Charlotte. With their support, we provided transformational repairs for a neighbor in need. In honor and celebration of Juneteenth, our offices, ReStores, and Julia's Cafe & Books are closed today. We hope you have a wonderful holiday! On June 19, 1865, news of freedom reached Galveston, Texas - more than two years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. This meant that more than 250,000 enslaved people in Texas finally had freedom. This holiday, known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, celebrates the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals and communities.
