Katie has called her Lansing house a home for the past 30 years, keeping up with #homerepairs on a single social security income became an overwhelming challenge. "I've replaced gutters, roof, and paid off my home," Katie shared. "I’ve exhausted all of my savings." Despite her best efforts, the home she sacrificed so much for was deteriorating, and Katie found herself in a difficult situation. Thanks to the generous funding from the MSHDA MI-HOPE grant, Katie’s home has undergone a remarkable transformation. Read Katie's #blog (https://loom.ly/HX2wvIA) on our website!

Today! Celebrate the beginning of Martha’s home rehab and the Eastfield Neighborhood Project this evening at 1305 Jerome St, Lansing at 5:30-6. -- About Martha: Martha grew up in Sudan and fled to Ethiopia as a refugee before coming to the United States. She had to work hard for many years to establish her income and credit history in a new county. Martha and her family are excited to finally "grow financially, and to plant roots in a community that we love," she says.
