Housing Assistance is working with the Town of Orleans to manage their newly-established Rental Assistance Program. The program is for households in Orleans that are earning less than 100% of the area median income (guidelines below). Through this innovative program, households can receive a direct payment to their landlord of up to $350/month for up to one year. At the same time, household members are required to participate in ongoing case management and work with a housing counselor from Housing Assistance. The goal of the program is to lend households an extra hand in meeting their expenses while also providing the tools to maintain financial stability once the program has ended. There is funding available for 10 households to participate in the program. INCOME LIMITS FOR 100% AMI* - HOUSEHOLD SIZE (2024): 1 person: $88,600 • 2 people: $101,300 • 3 people: $113,900 • 4 people: $126,600 • 5 people: $136,800 • 6 people: $146,900 To learn more or apply, visit https://lnkd.in/e5MUWi6p

Join us at the third annual Housing to Protect Cape Cod Summit on October 17th! At this year’s Summit, you can connect with state and local officials, business leaders, and community advocates as we reflect on progress made over the past year and chart the course for the year ahead. Here is a sneak peek of some of the conversations we'll be having... Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities' Housing Secretary Ed Augustus and Chief of Policy Eric Shupin will highlight the newly enacted Affordable Homes Act. This historic legislation authorizes $5.16 billion in spending over the next five years, with nearly 50 policy initiatives to counter rising housing costs caused by high demand and limited supply. They will outline the implementation strategy – including the process, the opportunities, and how to be engaged. State and local officials gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning at LeClair Village, a new three-building community in Mashpee featuring 39 affordable rental units. LeClair Village was developed through a partnership between Housing Assistance and Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH). The property is named after Mary LeClair, a longtime champion of housing issues on Cape Cod and a former board member at Housing Assistance, who continues to advocate for housing and other causes at the age of 90. #AffordableHousing #savethelocals
