Play is crucial to a child’s learning and development. Not playing outside in nature, for instance, can lead to attention problems and behavior issues. Reduced playtime may also increase stress and impact a child’s social and emotional maturity. Parents can be a role model for their kids. Build family playtime into your routine. A game night, for instance, helps individuals relax, laugh and heal. It also builds resilience. Harbor Child Care is dedicated to full-day childcare and age-appropriate education. The center uses the Creative Curriculum Program, regarded as a leading early childhood educational approach. For more information about what we offer, contact us online.

Chill-Out Ideas for Parents Self-Care We must take care of our mental, emotional and physical health. If your day gets out of hand, relax with a cup of tea, listen to music or go outside for a walk. Do simple activities to re-energize your mind and body. Engage in Play Play with your kids. This is a sure-fire way to relieve stress. When you are laughing and having fun, your body releases endorphins that make you feel good. Deep Breathing If you are experiencing signs of burnout, try a few deep breathing techniques to calm yourself. Breathe in slowly, fill your lungs with air, and gently exhale. Do this for two to three minutes.

Tips to Get Your Toddler to Nap Infant Massage The benefits of infant massage include stimulation, relaxation, stress and pain relief, bonding, and cognitive development. It also promotes sleep by increasing a child’s melatonin levels. Naptime Prep Set the environment for naptime. Turn the lights down. Begin a wind-down period about one hour beforehand. Speak in a soft voice. Quietly sing to your child or read them a book. Keep naptime consistent and stick with a pre-nap routine. Avoid naps before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m. They can mess up the sleep cycle. Take a Drive Babies and toddlers easily drift off to sleep in a moving vehicle. If they tend to wake up after you get home, sit with them in the car for a few minutes.

Most book stores offer a section completely devoted to infants. Books contained in this area offer sensory experiences for infants. There are tabs to grasp, pages to crinkle and even books that make noises. It is never too early to begin reading a short bedtime story to an infant. It helps them to learn a bedtime routine and provides an important bonding time with a parent or caregiver. Tip: Bath time is a great time to introduce books. You can purchase waterproof books that help to distract an infant while you bathe them. Some books can even turn different colors when exposed to water!

Children are encouraged to play and engage in activities from a very young age. Toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children are naturally curious and like to explore the world around them. While parents might think of play as a way for kids to burn off energy, it is much more than that. Children learn through play, a growing concept in education circles... https://lnkd.in/efQMJk2G
