Understanding Risks and Opportunities in US Private Credit. PANAMA The event was coordinated by Harbor Ithaka, an alternative investing platform for the international wealth channel, in partnership with four firms active in the US private credit markets: Hamilton Lane, Chicago Atlantic, Silverview Credit Partners, and Post Road Group, and special support from Mercantil Banco, a Suisse-based Private Banking platform with clients throughout the LATAM region. The forum was a great opportunity to learn about US Private Credit directly from lead Portfolio Managers Nayef Perry, Tony Cappell, Brian Rigert, CPA, Michael Bogdan, and Rafael A. Alcantara Lansberg, Harbor Ithaka's Chief of Investment Strategy and Research who was supported by Philippe Preite, CFA, CFTe on raising very important questions about the asset class. Also, the most sophisticated local allocators shared their view on US Private Credit and their teams best practices. The top talent on the investment side represented by Atilano Bullos, Irving Becerra, CFA, Rodrigo Arturo Tapia Cardoze, Marianna Cipponeri and David Rabella, CAIA, CESGA. We wish to thank the more than 90 attendees in total who showed up to meet and learn directly from the heads of the participating firms' private credit practices.

US CPI inflation came in hotter than expected for the third straight month ... and the result is continued price pressure on consumers which hits the poor hardest, and a sharp market reaction. Both headline and core prices rose 0.4%, bringing the annual measures to 3.2% and 3.8%, respectively. Services led the way, but they were far from the only drivers of the hotter inflation. Yields immediately surged higher, with the 2-year currently trading above 4.92% and the 10-year nearing 4.50%. The market is now pricing less than two Federal Reserve cuts this year as it takes another step in the "later and fewer" direction for the excessively dependent Fed. The major stock futures indices are down over 1%, and the dollar is stronger. All this puts the Fed in quite a tricky position -- one in which it should take a holistic view of what's ahead for the economy as a whole. But will it? #economy #inflation #markets #FederalReserve
