    CRO & CMO | Harbor

Exactly a year ago, we launched under a new brand, a new name: Harbor. Today, we’re a global team of 800 (!) experts in legal operations, technology, and strategy. As I reflect on this milestone, one thing stands out above all else: The energy of this company. Back in January 2023, I anticipated wrapping up my fractional CRO contract. But then I attended our first full executive meeting with the founding companies—HBR Consulting, LAC Group, Wilson Allen —in Chicago. The energy in that room was palpable. It grabbed me, and I was all in. As I flew back to New Zealand, I couldn’t stop dreaming about what this company could achieve. I knew I wanted to be part of the team that would make it happen. We hit the ground running with our integration program, 'Connecting to create # One,' merging the three founding companies. Since then, we’ve acquired and integrated Aurora North, Younts Consulting, Inc., Keesal Propulsion Labs (Acquired), the legal consultancy team from Stout, and most recently, UK-based Pinnacle. In the last few days, I've been reflecting on the source of this energy. It’s dynamic, it’s inspiring, it keeps us focused, aligned, and moving forward at an incredible pace. And then it hit me—it’s right there in our core Harbor values: We have an ambitious commitment to the success of our clients. That’s it. That ambitious commitment is what drives us to innovate, to push boundaries, to strive for excellence in both service delivery and outcomes. It’s one thing that unites us. We are Harbor. We are # One.

Buzz from #ILTACON2024 so far: Record-breaking attendance has meant that every session at the Gaylord Opryland is jam-packed. And while you can't walk more than a few steps without hearing a reference to "AI"...it's clear that as with other technology, human intelligence is what makes all the difference. Change management was a key theme throughout the day. John Attinger of Harbor reports that acknowledging the process of "grieving" when it comes to change management struck a chord in this morning's session on transformation in legal operations. Charlotte Takács of Harbor reports that firms are pushing for more robust change management plans as they take their strategic applications to the cloud – because the changes on the horizon for users are significant. By far the most burning question was whether #MicrosoftTeams and your DMS are a clash or a symphony. The answer? A symphony! But far from a one-size-fits-all approach, the panel of speakers including Rajiv Mukerji of Harbor emphasized the need to make deliberate choices that make sense for your firm. Alignment with information governance policies is critical, but putting IG into practice also requires building a culture recognizing its importance – and identifying where automation can help. Let the music play on, Nashville! #ILTACON24 #LegalTech #ChangeManagement #DigitalTransformation

In our latest Innovator Spotlight video, Elizabeth Gooch, Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer at McDermott Will & Emery shares her perspective on how insights from client engagement data enable a better client experience. She also highlights the unprecedented opportunity that law firms and law departments have in collaborating on Generative AI, as well as new pricing and service delivery models. Judging from the buzz around “M365 Teams and Your DMS: A Clash or a Symphony?”, this will be a well-attended session. Many of our clients are underway with initiatives to harmonize these two major platforms to realize high productivity while minimizing risk.  Please join this ILTACON 2024 panel session, where I’ll be joined by @John Heim of @Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP; @Elizabeth Rosario of @Millbank LLP; and @Jared Haselton representing the DMS vendor community.   We’ll be discussing challenges and best practices when Teams and a DMS coexist – and ways to integrate the two to streamline collaboration, enhance productivity, and ensure compliance. Attendees will leave with actionable insights and valuable lessons learned you can take back to your own organizations.   https://lnkd.in/ezFsBNxv
