The Office of the County Engineer had the pleasure of joining Precinct Three for the ribbon cutting of the completed Holderrieth Road project. 🚧✨This project reconstructed a 2-lane asphalt roadway into a 4-lane concrete boulevard with storm sewer which enhances our community by improving safety, increasing capacity for vehicular travel, adding safety and capacity for pedestrian mobility, and enhancing drainage efficiency. Thank you to everyone involved! #CommunityProgress #HolderriethRoad #RibbonCutting

Our Fall Interns had the incredible opportunity to visit Houston TranStar, a critical hub for keeping Houston's roadways clear and safe. As part of their internship experience, they learned firsthand how this center integrates real-time traffic data and emergency management to keep the fourth-largest city in the U.S. moving smoothly. This insightful visit gave them a unique perspective on how technology and teamwork come together to enhance public safety and transportation efficiency. A truly eye-opening experience for our future leaders #Internship #FutureEngineers #HarrisCounty #OCE #HoustonTranstar

OCE was honored to join Harris County Precinct 2 in celebrating the rich history and future of the Thomas Street Hospital. Originally established in the early 1900s as Southern Pacific Railroad's Sunset Hospital, this facility has been an integral part of Houston's healthcare landscape. In the 1980s, it became the first freestanding HIV/AIDS treatment clinic in the United States and grew to be the second-largest HIV clinic in the country. Though it closed in 2015 due to limited space and historical preservation challenges, the legacy of Thomas Street Hospital continues to resonate. We appreciate everyone who joined us for the community meeting to discuss project updates and proposed changes. Your support and input are essential as we work together to honor the past and shape the future of this historic site! #OCE #CommunityEngagement #ThomasStreetHospital #HoustonHistory #Pct2
