  • Jane Melia, Ph.D., our founder and CEO, is on the Inc. Female Founders 2025 list for her work Harvest! Homes account for 20% of U.S. carbon emissions, and most of that comes from gas furnaces and water heaters. Jane helped build a smarter solution to tackle home emissions with Harvest —one that eliminates 90% of heating emissions and lowers energy bills by 30%. We’re proud to see Jane recognized. And, happy to report she’s a pretty great boss, too.

  • Have questions about Harvest and how our system works? On March 19th, our founder Jane Melia, Ph.D. will join the Electrify Now “Go Electric!” series to dive into combi heat pumps—the innovative technology that combines space heating, cooling, and water heating into one outdoor unit. In the webinar, Jane will explain: ✅ How combining systems leads to cost savings and energy efficiency ✅ The thermal storage benefits that take efficiency even further ✅ Real-world challenges like installation complexity, upfront costs, and climate considerations Register here: https://lnkd.in/gbWhwn_4 #HarvestThermal #CleanEnergy #Electrification #CombiHeatPump #Sustainability #EnergyEfficiency

  • Maybe you’re shopping for a heat pump. Maybe you just love ranking things. Or maybe you’re an HVAC nerd who enjoys a little controversy. • 🔥 The UK is going all-in on heat pumps and we think the US should too. 🔥 The UK’s Climate Change Committee just set a bold target: half of all homes in the UK should have heat pumps by 2040 to stay on track for net zero. That’s big. That’s necessary. And it proves what we’ve been saying all along—clean, efficient home heating isn’t optional if we’re serious about ditching fossil fuels. The biggest roadblock is upfront costs. But other countries—Ireland, Norway, Germany—are proving that when governments back heat pumps with real incentives, market shifts follow. Adoption scales. Costs drop. Fossil fuels lose. Meanwhile, in the U.S., we have the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)—a massive opportunity to drive heat pump adoption—but political attacks are slowing its impact. States like California, New York, and Maine are leading the way, but we need a national commitment. The UK’s approach isn’t perfect, but at least they get it—heat pumps are the future. The U.S. needs to stop playing politics with climate action and catch up. Because physics doesn’t care about politics. 🔗 Read more about the UK’s big move here: https://lnkd.in/gu_grfun #HeatPumps #NetZero #CleanEnergy #ClimateAction

  • When it comes to heating, cooling, and hot water, we believe smarter is better. Our CEO Jane Melia, Ph.D. joined Buildings Hub Live alongside heat pump leader Daikin Comfort and Atlas Public Policy to dive into how incentives, evolving policy, and cutting-edge tech are transforming the HVAC landscape. One key takeaway? Thermal energy storage—like Harvest’s Smart Thermal Battery—can shift 90% of a home's heating load to optimize for both the grid and the homeowner. That’s a game-changer for efficiency and affordability. Tune in to the conversation and see how smarter heating and cooling is becoming more accessible than ever. • In case you’ve been ignoring the news lately (and we wouldn’t blame you!), we wanted to let you know, gently, that the Oscars are on Sunday. We won’t be offering any predictions for this particular international extravaganza, but we will take a moment to reflect upon a group using the magic of film to do something more than a little compelling to shove the world in the right direction on climate change. Yellow Dot Studios, a non-profit media studio founded by Academy Award-winning writer and director Adam McKay, is leading the charge for a more impactful Hollywood. Known for films like "Don't Look Up" and "The Big Short," McKay established Yellow Dot to combat climate disinformation and inspire action through compelling digital media. By prioritizing engaging, scientifically accurate narratives, McKay and his team challenge decades of disinformation propagated by fossil fuel companies and their affiliates. Yellow Dot’s approach ensures that climate communication is not only informative but also entertaining, making it accessible to a broader audience. • Big news: Harvest is going multifamily! 🚀🏡 We started bringing cleaner, cheaper home comfort to single-family homes back in 2020, and now, we’re taking the next big step—our first multifamily project in San Jose with Eden Homes! Why does this matter? Because high-efficiency, all-electric heating + hot water shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be accessible to everyone. And with this project, we’re making real savings + real emissions cuts a reality for tenants while helping Eden hit an ambitious 50% GHG reduction target. Check out the video to hear why Ruthie Levin, Sustainable Housing Project Manager at Eden Homes, chose Harvest to make it happen. 🌱♻️ #Multifamily #SustainableHousing #EnergyEfficiency #ElectrifyEverything #HarvestThermal

  • At the AHR Expo, one major trend stood out to us: the shift toward using water as a heat transfer medium instead of traditional refrigerants. This isn't just a small industry change—it's a game-changer. By using monobloc heat pumps, refrigerants stay safely sealed outdoors, opening the door to more sustainable options like propane (R290), all while simplifying installation and cutting safety risks. Plus, water-based systems make it easier to store heat efficiently and tap into renewable energy. At Harvest, we’ve been ahead of this shift with our SANCO2 air-to-water heat pumps, which use CO2—the refrigerant with the lowest global warming potential. The future of HVAC is here, and we're already leading the way. Want to learn more about this sustainable evolution?
