Intuitive Care Communication Products
About us
HatchMed is a Seattle based medical device company founded in 2012. Our mission is to provide solutions to patient and care team problems with our innovative and intuitive products and software to help advocate for better patient and care team experiences. Our flagship product, the BlackJack Magnetic Nurse-call Cable, is designed to increase reliable hospital bed connectivity to nurse call systems and reduce patient falls by eliminating bent pins and broken cables. The Talon Tablet Mount is built to make hospital-owned iPads or devices more accessible to patients and care team staff and is available in cart, bedrail, or wall-arm versions. HallMonitor is a digital corridor display that integrates with any EMR or our with our own ComCierge software. Display patient status, indicate isolation level, or fall risk with contextual illumination, or perform a secure 2-way video call all from outside the patient room in a fully customizable wall mounted unit that connects to any nurse call system. PillowCase is a durable, cleanable iPad enclosure designed for patient use. PillowCase connects directly to nurse-call, has a hardwired nurse-call button, and can be used as a secondary controller for easy access to content, entertainment, or requests to communicate with the care team. In 2021 we rolled out ComCierge, our iOS software application designed to simplify and streamline patient communication and engagement. ComCierge allows nurses to filter patient requests, reducing alarm fatigue and getting the patient what they need faster and with easier delegation. It integrates with EMR, ADT, & nurse-call systems and can be customized for your facilities needs. Our product line aims to innovate patient rooms, increase patient satisfaction, and support care team staff with intuitive, patient focused technology. #Healthcareinnovation in action!
Informatics Executive | Healthcare Operations & Technology Leader | Innovation Advocate | Adult Education Champion | Collaborator 🎯Driving Patient Impact Through Leadership, Training, and Technology Adoption
I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with leaders to introduce innovative technology at Memorial Healthcare System Rehab Institute, empowering patients through the use of in-room voice activated speakers. This technology does a great job supporting patients through their care journey. By teaming up with Aiva Health and HatchMed, we seamlessly integrated Alexa devices with the Rauland Responder 5 Nurse Call System. Patients can now effortlessly manage tasks like adjusting lights, changing tv channels, and alerting nurses for support, all hands-free! We love partnering with organizations like Owensboro Health to improve #patientsafety with our #BlackJack magnetic #nursecall cables!
Owensboro Health is always looking for ways to improve patient safety and efficiency. Traditional bed cables, which connect the patient to the nurse call system and bed exit alarms, can get damaged when team members forget to disconnect cords before moving a patient’s bed. This can lead to a compromised patient station and a room that’s out of service, affecting the entire care process. To address this issue, we’ve upgraded the bed cables in 360 patient rooms to BlackJack Magnetic Breakaway Cables from HatchMed. These innovative cables offer several benefits: - Reduced falls: Decreased falls by 20-30% due to reduced pin damage and service calls. - Improved patient safety: Magnetic connection for IV poles and nurse call systems reduces alarm fatigue and increases nurse efficiency. - Reduced staff workload: Easier disconnection of cables during bed transport and fewer service calls due to pin damage. -Seamless patient experience: Real-time notifications of patient movement and potential falls through integration with nurse call systems and bed alarms. By adopting this technology, we’re making a significant step towards providing safer and more efficient care for our patients. #healthcareinnovation #HatchMed #patientcare

Always great checking in with UW Medicine! They have been successfully using HatchMed’s Blackjack and Snapjack cables for over a year to improve patient-to-care team communication and patient safety. 🏥 Whenever I am onsite at UW, I make sure to stop by the ICU unit where my sister Natalie is an RN. #patientsafety
