About us
Hatz Americas, Inc. has been active in all sectors of the market since its opening. Hatz engines power construction equipment including pavers, concrete mixers, and compaction equipment. HDA also supplies the diesel power for generators, pumps and military equipment. HDA is the factory headquarters for all of North America and operates fully equipped engineering, service, and engine testing facilities from our location in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Motorenfabrik Hatz GmbH & Co. KG, with its head office in Ruhstorf an der Rott, is a globally leading German diesel engine manufacturer. The family run company employs more than 900 employees, more than five percent of them in the field of research and development. In 2014, a turnover of approximately 155 million Euro was achieved. Motorenfabrik Hatz GmbH Co. & KG was founded by Mathias Hatz in 1880. From the original repair business for agricultural machines and locomotives, it has developed into a globally active company which includes diesel engine construction, contract manufacture of conrods and crankshafts as well as system construction. The family company comprises three plants, 13 of its own subsidiaries, 114 Hatz agents in 120 countries and more than 500 service centers worldwide. Thus Hatz is able to supply spare parts quickly and ensure replacement systems.

Our Hatz Team has successfully completed an engineering review at the Newmont Peñasquito Gold Mine in Mexico, the largest gold mine, second largest silver mine, and one of the largest zinc producers. Accompanied by Gabriel Gonzalez, Engineering Product Design Manager, and his team from Kluane Drilling LTD and KDL Mexico S.A. de C.V. During the review, we tested the Kluane Portable Drilling Equipment powered by the Hatz Engine Modular Configuration (3 x 3H50TI), known for its high-power density capability and advantageous high power-to-weight configuration. Kluane selected Hatz do the high quality, durability, and reliability under very harsh conditions. The modular design that Kluane designed and created helps them to ship and easily install the equipment even in very remote locations where sometimes the only method of transportation is via helicopter. This modular design gives Kluane added performance enhancements due to the modular design and added redundancy, reliability, and high-performance capabilities. Thanks to the Hatz Team that included Pablo Serrato, General Manager of Hatz Latin America; Zach Smith, Engineering Manager; and Gerardo Martinez, Engineering Manager at Motor-Mart Monterrey, Mexico.
