They discussed the importance of mental health at every stage of life, emphasizing how factors like illness, life transitions, and other challenges can impact older adults. They also highlighted the resources available nearby at Haven to support their well-being. The group was highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and offering encouragement to one another. One member shared his personal experience with calling 988, and they had the opportunity to meet with him afterward. Arcadia students are tackling a 'hidden opponent' — mental health awareness among college and university student-athletes. The Hidden Opponent, a nonprofit dedicated to this cause, organized a 5K walk/run for suicide prevention on Saturday, Sept. 24. World Suicide Prevention Day is observed each year on September 10th. To help raise awareness, reduce stigma, and focus attention on this important issue, Haven Behavioral Hospital of Philadelphia set up a resource table with valuable information. Announcing our new CEO- Angelo Pananas. Angelo Pananas, CEO of Haven Behavioral Hospital of Philadelphia, originates from New England. He earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 2002. His early career was spent as a social worker at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he worked for ten years. Transitioning to hospital administration, Angelo gained experience with the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) in Alleghany, Virginia, and in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola, Florida. His first role as a chief executive officer was with Perimeter Healthcare in Garland, Texas. In October 2022, Angelo joined Haven Behavioral Healthcare, recently serving as the CEO of their Dayton, Ohio facility. Motivated by personal tragedy as the surviving sibling of a successful suicide, he is deeply passionate about supporting individuals and families in crisis. Angelo is the father of three daughters who live with their mother in Boston, Massachusetts. He resides in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, with his partner, her four children, and their two dogs.
