Prestress Services Here at Haydon Bridge Company, we believe in taking care of our friends and partners. That’s why when we received the call from Prestress Services, LLC that they needed some help with one of their projects, we got to work. Prestress Services is a company that cast concrete beams for a lot of our bridge projects. Over the years, we have fostered a great relationship with the folks at Prestress and have completed numerous projects together. They are currently working on an expansion project for their Lexington based plant and as part of that expansion, they are building new casting beds for bigger beams. The Rock Lick Creek Bridge is back underway! Crews recently set the last span of beams and are now working to complete phase 2 of the bridge deck. A Cross-Hole Sonic Logging (CSL) test, also known as a sonic logging test or ultrasonic cross-hole test, is a non-destructive method for evaluating and determining the structural integrity of concrete piles, concrete drilled shafts and other deep foundation elements. Steel Erection Construction by Haydon Bridge Company: An essential and important step of the process of bridge construction includes the steel erection of the bridge’s truss, girders, beams, and/or temporary support columns. Steel erection is the process of constructing, altering, or repairing bridges and overpasses, and it involves the assembly, connection, and installation of steel beams, metal decking, and planking used in the erection of the bridge structure. For bridges particularly, it’s erecting the steel plate girders or trusses that support the bridge, splicing (or bolting them together) when lifted in the air or on the ground, then erecting them and putting the structures into place. 🚧 Washington County update: Since our last update on our bridge expansion on KY 555, we have been given the “All Clear” on our CSL testing report and have followed right in to column construction. To construct our columns, we use an efficient form system design by EFCO. We utilize a series of pipe braces to stabilize the column form and then drop our rebar cage into place. Once this is done, we drop in a hopper & chutes to help control the flow of concrete. We then use our crane combined with a concrete bucket to transport the concrete from the truck to the hopper chute and into the column form. #pouringconcrete #rodbusters 🌉 Project Details: https://lnkd.in/evhSM48n
