  • Utah.... New Hampshire....Virginia..... Las Vegas.... What an incredible moment. We have tears of gratitude for these nurses walking in the door to help. Our area is reeling from the storm and HCA Healthcare nurses are here to help. 200 nurses are walking in our doors from HCA Healthcare hospitals from coast to coast. As Milton was headed for our Florida coast, our corporate family was on the phone with nurses across the country and booking flights to have them here. Today, the nurses started walking in our doors. As Tampa Bay recovers, we are taking in more patients than ever. While other hospitals have had to close due to devastation by the hurricane, HCA Florida Brandon Hospital caregivers are working their hardest to fill the needs of our community. We couldn't be more grateful for all these nurses who showed up to help. #WeShowUp #CareLikeFamily

  • This year, our hospital team had the opportunity to volunteer together at ECHO of Brandon (Emergency Care Help Organization), a local nonprofit helping those in need in our community. As a hospital, we donated hundreds of pounds of beans and rice and bagged them for distribution. ECHO is right down the road from us at Brandon Hospital and we are proud to have them in the neighborhood, so we can all support our neighbors together. HCA Florida Healthcare is a proud supporter of nonprofits and encourages our colleagues to volunteer and support them. Each year, when colleagues volunteer in the community, HCA Healthcare donates on our colleagues' behalf to the charities of their choosing. We call the donations 'care cards.' This year, after our team volunteered and learned of the impact at ECHO, Plant City CT Technologist Dawn Wren was so touched by the organization that she donated $1,000 of her care cards to ECHO. It's not a first for Dawn either. She continually finds ways to support and engage with the local community and is a true embodiment of how we #CareLikeFamily. Thank you for all you do, Dawn!

  • As Hurricane Helene passed the west coast of Florida, destructive winds and storm surge progressed through our communities, devastating some of them. HCA Florida Healthcare colleagues stood ready to serve compassionate care to you and your families before, during and after the storm. Special thanks to our colleagues for meeting Hurricane Helene with courage and compassion. #WeShowUp #CareLikeFamily #HCAFloridaHealthcare

  • We can't say thank you enough to our Brandon Hospital colleagues, who were here for our patients, hospital and team, day and night through Helene and its aftermath. Six babies were born during the storm with more on the way now. The inpatient rehab team danced their way through the storm with our patients. Emergencies don't stop during a storm, so our emergency, cardiac and surgery teams were on the ready and responded. Thank you to the entire nursing team for your commitment to the care and improvement of human life, rain or shine.

  • Our tiniest patients rode out the storm being loved on by our caring Level III NICU nursing team. This sweet little girl was 72 days old when Hurricane Helene blew through the area. Maelani and her twin brother were born at 24 weeks old on July 16. Maelani weighed 1 pound 7.1 oz and 13 inches long when she was born. Her little tootsies were only about two inches long. Her nurse, Jeannie Sosa Sibley, along with all our team made sure patients like Maelani had all the love and care they needed while the winds blew outside. #Thankful #CareLikeFamily #ThankyouNurses

  • Our compassionate nurses care for you and your family on a daily basis. And one of those very nurses, Holly Amaral, RN, values the open-door policy at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, appreciating the accessibility it provides to her and her fellow colleagues. “The policy here is very open door, I like that because I can go to manager with any issue, any concern or just to vent and she’ll listen and that makes me more relaxed and able to be the nurse I should be,” says Holly Amaral, RN, a nurse at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. #WeShowUp #CareLikeFamily #PositiveImpact

  • This year, HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has been proud to start a Community Advisory Council to engage local community leaders with the hospital to bring ideas and keep the pulse of what's going on in our growing community. Special thank you to Todd Carnell from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, Florida, Robert Ura from Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Marie Gilmore from Osprey Observer, Eleanor Saunders from ECHO of Brandon (Emergency Care Help Organization) and Liz Brewer from Angel Foundation Florida who join our team for this great cause to improve and connect with our community.

  • This week, we celebrate Environmental Services Week and the incredible work of our custodial staff, who work tirelessly to keep our facilities clean and safe. We shine a special spotlight on Beverly Olson, longtime housekeeper on A2. Her colleagues on the unit rave about how Miss Bev is always "willing to do anything for her fellow caregivers and our patients. And she does it with a smile!" Her patients use words like "amazing, kind and warm" to describe her, calling her "a breath of fresh air." Bev joined our hospital team in 2020, but it feels like she's been a part of this team forever. We feel blessed to have you, Bev. Thank you for your dedication to our hospital and our patients. And, thank you to our entire EVS team for providing a clean and safe environment for our patients, their families and our colleagues. Your hard work and dedication have a positive impact on the quality of care we deliver and creates a welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors. This week, we celebrate you and your vital role in the care we deliver. #CareLikeFamily
