Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is now HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. We are a 267-bed, top-performing acute care hospital with over 300 of the most highly respected and qualified physicians in the Tri-County area. We offer an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, a Cancer Care Center, a Breast Center, a Women’s and Children’s Center with a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and advanced care for critically ill patients. Our services include open-heart surgery, behavioral health and a wide range of specialties as well as emergency services at our main emergency room (ER), pediatric ER and two freestanding ERs. From setting up classrooms and maintaining facilities to landscaping and organizing educational materials, volunteers worked tirelessly to create a welcoming environment for students.   • Welcome Dr. Sean Meiner, MD, to our facility! Dr. Meiner is a board-certified neurosurgeon with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to patient care. Dr. Meiner earned his BS in Biology from the University of Washington in 2000, followed by his MD from the University of Texas HSC at Houston in 2008. He completed both his internship and residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Texas HSC at Houston, finishing his residency in 2015. With his extensive training and compassionate approach, Dr. Meiner is dedicated to providing exceptional care and innovative treatments to his patients. Patrick joins us with a remarkable background in healthcare management, having most recently served as the Regional Vice President for HCA Healthcare's North Florida and South Atlantic divisions. His expertise includes overseeing patient logistics, behavioral health, centralized patient placement, transfer center operations, and emergency medical services transport. Dr. Delafontaine is Board Certified in both Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and brings a wealth of experience to our community. After earning his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completing his Internship and General Surgery Residency at Louisiana Health Sciences in Shreveport, he pursued advanced training through a Clinical Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center.
