  • As we begin recovery and cleanup after Hurricane Milton, please keep your safety in mind! Here are a few tips: · Avoid standing water: it may look harmless, but standing water can hide dangerous debris and pollutants. Stay clear! · Watch for snakes: flooding can drive snakes into unexpected places. Be cautious doing yardwork or checking for damage. · Driving: avoid driving through standing water. Just a few inches can cause you to lose control or become stranded. Turn around, don’t drown! · Ladder safety: if you need to check your roof or clear debris, ensure your ladder is stable and on solid ground. Never work alone! · Wet roofs: wet roofs can be slippery. If you must go up, use proper safety gear and have someone with you. · Candle safety: only use on a stable surface and never leave a candle unattended. Use safer alternatives like flashlights or battery-operated lights. If you or a loved one is experiencing a medical emergency, don't delay.
