Seven years ago, #HurricaneHarvey devastated #HarrisCounty. Since then, we've made great strides in strengthening our flood mitigation infrastructure. We've expanded drainage capacity in Cimarron, Westfield Pines, Keegans Bayou, and other #HCPrecinct4 areas hit hard by #Harvey. But our work isn’t done—we must continue investing in disaster response, flood control, and programs that support families before, during, and after storms.

Commissioner Briones joined the Memorial Park Conservancy to open the annual audio experience honoring the soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment. This installation honors the U.S. Army soldiers who served their country by guarding the construction of Camp Logan (now Memorial Park). After the Houston Riots of 1917, 110 of these soldiers were unfairly tried, convicted, and court-martialed. 19 were executed, and 63 were given life sentences in federal prison.
