On September 26th, Islam Hijazy, Gaza Program Manager for HEAL Palestine, was tragically killed. She leaves behind two young children, Maria and Mohammed, who now face a life without their dear mother. Their father, still in North Gaza, remains separated from them. Islam’s children will need ongoing support as they remain in Gaza with family members, now facing the loss of their mother and the absence of a stable income. We will continue to support Maria and Mohamed as best as we can during this terrible time. Please help secure their future by donating to their fund. https://lnkd.in/gXqf2QG8

It is with deep sadness that HEAL Palestine announces the killing of our Gaza Program Manager, Islam Hijazy, in Gaza today. She was the mother of two small children, and a humanitarian with the highest ethics and professionalism. Islam intentionally stayed in Gaza to help others. “My place is in Gaza serving my people,” she said when she started her leadership role with HEAL. HEAL Palestine is more dedicated than ever to serving Gaza, in her honor. Ceasefire now.

Abdelhadi, 19, from North Gaza, lost his left hand and sustained a severe injury to his right hand, which now has a metal plate, after being directly hit by a tank shell while trying to collect flour for his family. His story highlights the harsh realities of life in North Gaza, revealing the profound physical and emotional scars left by g**ocide. HEAL Palestine is providing Abdelhadi with therapy sessions as part of our mental health program, offering crucial support to help him cope with the trauma and challenges he faces in the aftermath of his injuries. #healpalestine #nonprofit #nonprofitcharity #therapy #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness

Baraa is recovering after surgery, following the loss of his leg and arm in a bombing in Gaza. Doctors have removed the external fixtures from his right arm. To aid his recovery, they broke his right femur and placed external fixtures to help rotate his knee and leg. Additionally, more bone was removed from his right leg to ensure a better fit for his prosthetic. The healing process is challenging and often painful, but we’re hoping for a smooth and speedy recovery for Baraa. #healthcare #nonprofit #healpalestine #charity

With limited resources and an overwhelming need among hundreds of thousands of people in North Gaza suffering from food insecurity and lacking basic necessities, HEAL Palestine is working hard to respond to urgent requests when the lives of children are at stake. This week, our team responded to an urgent request from a family in dire need. While we cannot respond to every individual request, we do our best to help when we can. #nonprofit #aid #charity #nonprofitorganization
