The Health Care Transformation Task Force’s latest resource highlights affordability efforts implemented by three health care organizations and Task Force members: Elevance Health, MedStar Health, and Sentara Health. Discover how these initiatives are making a difference and driving more affordable health care for patients. 📢 “Far too many people in the U.S. are struggling to afford the care they need,” said Sarah Coombs, Director for Health System Transformation at the National Partnership for Women & Families. “Rising health care costs are affecting everyone, but especially people impacted by systemic socio-economic inequities, including women, people of color, people with disabilities, and the uninsured. Affordability efforts are part of the solution toward expanding access to health care and advancing health equity.” 🖇️ Read the resource here: https://lnkd.in/eaVqveaH

About us
The Health Care Transformation Task Force is an industry consortium that brings together patients, payers, providers and purchasers to align private and public sector efforts to clear the way for a sweeping transformation of the U.S. health care system. We seek to provide a critical mass of business, operational and policy expertise from the private sector that, when combined with the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other public and private sector stakeholders, can accelerate the pace of delivery system transformation. Our members represent every sector of health care. While at times we have competing interests, we share a common commitment to transform our business and clinical models to deliver the Triple Aim of better health, better care and lower costs. Our outputs will not reflect the simple self-interest of any one organization or market segment, but rather agreement on common private and public approaches that will best facilitate transformation.

Check out these four policy principles from the United States of Care that can help guide the transition toward patient-first care a.k.a. #ValueBasedCare: ➜ Work with people to incorporate their needs and perspectives into patient-first care design ➜ Realign financial incentives to ensure that providers are incentivized to deliver accountable care that improves health care outcomes, quality, and equity. ➜ Strengthen care delivery to encompass essential elements of whole-person care. ➜ Promote accountability within models to ensure that providers deliver quality care through patient-centric evaluation and reporting requirements.
