Meet Charles Drew Health Center, Inc.'s Controller, Barbara Webb! What do you in your current position?: Working in the Finance office as the Controller, I wear many hats. I review and post cash entries, process the bi-weekly payroll, review the a/p invoices for accuracy prior to payments. Enter monthly journal entries. Work with the CFO on projects. How did you get into your career?: In High School I took accounting classes and enjoyed them, so went to college and earned my Bachelors of Science in Accounting. Why did you choose to work at a community health center?: To see the work that is being done here at Charles Drew and being able to interact with the patients and knowing they appreciate the work we do is wonderful. I am glad I have been able to work here and see the progress we are making in the community. #fqhc #communityhealthcenter #accounting

Health Center Association of Nebraska reposted this
The journey to CEO for Kenny McMorris MPA, FACHE, CHCEF started as a child when he was a patient at the Charles Drew Health Center, Inc., in Omaha: “I was a patient here all the way up to age 18. I went away to college then came back. My mother and my grandmother are patients here, too.” Under McMorris’ leadership, the health center has thrived, delivering nearly 40,000 patient visits annually! A true champion for health centers, McMorris says, “I want this place to feel like a community, a family for our patients, because it is a family for me.” Learn more about McMorris in the article on the new online magazine, Community Health Forum: https://lnkd.in/enU7Ss_Z #ValueCHCs #CommunityHealthForum

Meet Bluestem Health's Medical Records Specialist, Matt Younker-Rowell! What do you do in your current position?: As a Medical record specialist, I organize, maintain, and file records into patient charts for our providers and also any referring medical clinics. We in the medical records department are responsible for ensuring compliance of standards and guidelines, while also protecting the security and privacy of patient information. How did you get into your career?: I started in the medical field via a nursing home 35 years ago, throughout my time I have held positions in many different aspects of the medical field. 4 years ago ended up leaving the field due to some health issues for an Administrative Assistant position at a local Community College. After a few years, I extremely missed where my heart had been for so long. Why did you choose to work at a community health center?: A department co-worker at the college took a class to tour the job opportunities for people in the area of a local community health center. She returned and told me about the opportunities at Bluestem Health which made me think about returning to the Medical Field in an aspect that I would be able to utilize my years of knowledge in the healthcare field and where my heart has been for 35 years. #fqhc #communityhealthcenter #medical #informatics
