The impact of HLC members doesn't stop at the U.S. border. We applaud the collaborative efforts of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and USAID to expand support for health workers across Latin America and the Caribbean. As Vanessa Broadhurst, Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs, J&J, said: “Health workers—especially nurses and community health workers—are the backbone of our health systems, but in many places, workforces are strained and face challenges delivering care in their communities. Through these efforts, we can empower health workers with the career support and training needed to strengthen health systems and close the gap between communities and care.” More below ⬇

HLC member companies and employees have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to help millions recover from the devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton - even while some themselves were storm victims. Every aspect of our industry has been touched by these disasters and while challenges remain, they continue to do whatever it takes to ensure patients have access to lifesaving care. We want to recognize the dedication of the Baxter International Inc. team in North Cove, North Carolina. They are continuously working to restore plant operations because patients nationwide depend on the IV bags produced there. At the same time, the company is keenly focused on the needs of their employees and the surrounding communities severely impacted by Hurricane Helene. #HurricaneHelene #HurricaneMilton #healthcareleadership #NorthCoveStrong
We are excited to welcome our colleagues back to our North Cove site, with more than 2,000 employees and approximately 1,000 contractors on site this week. Their focus is on cleanup and equipment repairs. Latest update here: https://bit.ly/3N9s3uS #NorthCoveStrong

HLC is proud to represent members on the cutting edge of patient care. Atrium Health, part of HLC member company Advocate Health, is now treating cancer patients with proton beam therapy. This targeted treatment can lead to fewer side effects and less damage to surrounding healthy tissue than conventional radiation therapy. Atrium Health Levine Cancer Proton & Advanced Radiation Center, located in Rep. Jeff Jackson's Charlotte district, is the first and only facility in the Carolinas to offer this innovative and lifesaving treatment for adult and pediatric patients with complex tumors. #healthcareleadership #cancertreatment #patientcare

We're thrilled to announce that Well has joined as the newest member of the Healthcare Leadership Council. As the first engagement platform to deliver personalized, daily whole health at scale, Well is a “tech-enabled” health concierge for all. It is always impressive to see first-hand the difference our members are making in the communities they serve. This week HLC President and CEO Maria Ghazal visited the main campus of Mount Sinai Health System in NYC where she toured the emergency department. She also engaged with hospital leadership to discuss the critical role Mount Sinai plays in caring for patients and supporting the community. A big thank you to the leaders who met with Maria, including Jonathan Kyriacou, Emma Palmer, Leah Rosales (pictured), Rishi Tripathi, and Dr. Ania Wajnberg.
