Announcing the recipients of Healthcare Realty’s Leasing Spotlight Award for third quarter 2024: Andrew N., Travis Bontrager, and Kim Adkins. Andrew was honored in July, in recognition of his work to lease a 57,000-square-foot space in one of our buildings in Pittsburgh, which will become the reinvented corporate headquarters of a major construction firm. Andrew demonstrated exceptional tenacity to make this complex deal happen, collaborating with colleagues across six different departments of the company over the course of many months. Travis received the award (his second this year) in August, after successfully completing eight new leases for an impressive 33,600 square feet that month. One of these deals was for the last available suite in a 100,000-SF building in his market, adding it to our list of buildings that are 100% leased. Travis’s characteristic ability to build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders contributed to this achievement. Kim was our deserving Spotlight winner in September, after she completed ten new leases for the month totaling 30,000 square feet. Her productivity is driven by her forward-thinking approach, sharp attention to detail, and commitment to speedy lease turnaround, always working closely with all parties to achieve win/win terms and minimize the time required to get to the finish line. Healthcare Realty was a proud sponsor of Banner Health’s 9th Annual Pulse of the City Soiree, held October 5 at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa. Banner Health is our health system partner in Arizona. Our Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis Jessica Stewart, CPA and Director of Leasing Ryan O'Connor represented Healthcare Realty at the event. Jessica also served as a member of the organizing committee. The annual Soiree raises funds for pediatric cancer care and research at three Banner Children’s medical centers. Proceeds support chemotherapy, surgery, and bone marrow transplants for more than 4,000 children who receive cancer care at Banner Children’s medical centers each year. Funds also go toward Banner Children’s participation in the National Children’s Oncology Group, which supports travel expenses for children and their families who need to go out of state for advanced treatments available at their network of other hospitals. The formal event included a cocktail reception, a prize raffle, photo booth, dinner, live music, and dancing, plus a program showcasing the stories of children who have bravely overcome cancer at Banner Children’s medical centers, inspiring attendees with their remarkable strength, courage, and resilience. Joining Ryan and Jessica at Healthcare Realty’s table were members of our local broker partner team from Kidder Mathews: Rachael Thompson, Rachel Wahlers, Chad Sutton, and Emily Ernst, along with their spouses. This year’s Soiree raised nearly $1.3 million for pediatric cancer care and research! Another Healthcare Realty building just became 100% Leased! At our Loudoun II medical outpatient building on the campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital near Washington, DC, two existing tenants recently opted to expand their suites when renewing their leases. These expansions absorbed the last available spaces within the 103,500-square-foot building, which houses a fantastic community of medical practices. Another Healthcare Realty building just became 100% leased! Sentry Management has signed a new lease for a 5,792-square-foot suite at our Davidson Medical Outpatient Building in Charlotte, North Carolina, which was the last remaining suite available in the building. We greatly appreciate the hard work of Chandler Knox, SIOR with Park Commercial Real Estate, who not only introduced this new tenant to the 35,300-square-foot building, but also just renewed our lease with the building’s largest tenant – an 11,741-square-foot space on the ground floor, occupied by Carolinas Physicians Network. Earlier this month, Senior Vice President - Investments Burney Dawkins and Associate Vice President - Investments Molly Leinsdorf represented Healthcare Realty on panel discussions during the 15th annual #InterFaceGroup Healthcare Real Estate Conference in Dallas. Healthcare Realty was also a proud sponsor of the event. Burney (pictured second from left in the first photo) and his fellow panelists explored the question of “Where to find – and how to finance and execute on – development opportunities in today’s environment.” The key takeaway was that in the face of overwhelming demand for medical space, the recent slowdown in new development is starting to turn toward the positive as capital markets thaw and pricing levels off. Molly (pictured second from right in the second photo) and the other speakers on her panel shared their perspectives on “When and how will the investment market spring back to life – and what will it look like when it does?” The panelists noted that investor activity has increased in recent months compared to the previous year, and that interest rate stability will be key to driving enthusiasm in the capital markets. Yesterday, Healthcare Realty announced four key executive leadership changes, aimed at extending the company’s operational momentum and increasing our focus on execution, acceleration of growth, and accretive capital allocation. Rob Hull has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Rob will be responsible for overseeing the company’s portfolio performance through the coordinated leadership of leasing, project management, asset management, and property operations. In his current role of Executive VP - Investments, Rob has overseen our recent acceleration of new leasing volume to more than 400,000 square feet in each of the last four quarters, driving an occupancy improvement of more than 110 basis points. Ryan Crowley has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, a role in which he will be responsible for the company’s acquisitions, dispositions, development, and redevelopment. Ryan has been with Healthcare Realty for over 18 years, during which he has been directly involved with investment transactions valued at more than $5 billion. He has served as Senior VP – Investments since 2018, leading the company’s acquisition efforts and completing over $2.3 billion of acquisitions. Julie Wilson has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Administration Officer, which will add human resources to her current leadership of Healthcare Realty’s technology, marketing, and corporate responsibility teams. Julie has served as Executive VP, Operations since 2021, leading the company’s successful post-merger integration efforts and overseeing the largest portion of the company’s 550+ employees. Austen Helfrich has been named Interim Chief Financial Officer. Since 2019, Austen has served as First Vice President, Portfolio Strategy, a role in which he has led the formation and expansion of the company’s joint venture program, including strategic partnerships with Nuveen, CBRE Investment Management, and KKR. Healthcare Realty’s Board of Directors has formed a search committee to recruit and hire a permanent CFO. These changes will be effective October 1. Todd Meredith, President and CEO, said, “I’m enthusiastic about the energy and new perspectives this team brings to the execution of our operational and capital allocation initiatives. Another Healthcare Realty building just became 100% leased! Atlas Physical Therapy recently signed a lease for a 2,164-square-foot suite on Floor 3 of Lone Tree Medical Plaza, which left just one remaining 2,182-square-foot suite in the building. Soon thereafter, an existing tenant, Advent Health/Portercare Adventist, opted to expand into this final available space, signing a lease that brought their total occupancy in the building to 18,500 square feet.
