#MedicalTranscriptionist Pay in the Southwestern U.S.: BLS data reveals the Southwestern U.S. to be one of the WEAKER paying regions in the nation for medical transcriptionists. No state in the region had a medical transcriptionist annual mean wage level that was above the national average for the profession. Medical Assistant Pay in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas: According to BLS data from May 2023, the annual mean wage for #MedicalAssistants was $43,350. From region to region there was wide variation in #MedicalAssistant mean annual wages, with medical assistants in some regions of the country earning 50% or more than their counterparts elsewhere. More than half of medical assistants in the U.S. work in physician offices, but large numbers are also found working in hospitals, outpatient care centers, offices of other types of healthcare practitioners, and assisted living facilities. HIMSS Media: "Addressing HEALTH INEQUITIES could add $2.8 trillion to the U.S. economy by 2040, significantly boosting GDP and improving population health, while corporate profits could increase by $763 billion by that time, according to a new Deloitte analysis.
