About us
Health in Tandem is an integrative private practice with a team of compassionate, innovative therapists who aim to help clients find awareness and balance in all aspects of their health and wellness. We believe that change and growth happen when we focus on addressing four pillars of wellness: mental wellness, emotional wellness, physical wellness, and social wellness. Our therapists each have their own diverse experiences within the health and wellness field and specialize in a variety of mind-body modalities. While every one of our therapists has their own unique style and outlook on treatment, our therapists focus on using evidence-based practices (mainly acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, and EMDR).

Since her incredible performance at Lollapalooza, Chappell Roan has been blowing up! I have to admit, **Pink Pony Club** is my new hype jam. But beyond the music, what makes Chappell truly stand out is her openness about mental health—even to the point of canceling shows when she needed to. Mental health struggles are real, and artists like Chappell remind us that it’s okay to talk about them. Through her vulnerable lyrics and her candid voice on social media, she’s showing us that we don’t have to fight our battles alone. 🧠 Remember: - It’s okay to not be okay. - Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. - Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Take a page from Chappell’s book—be kind to yourself, find your outlet, and never hesitate to speak up. Whether it's through music, art, or conversation, expressing what’s inside can be a powerful form of healing. Let’s support each other and normalize taking breaks when we need them. Even celebrities, who seem like superhumans, remind us that we’re all just human at the end of the day. ❤️ -Amanda #ChappellRoan #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone #ItsOkayToTalk #BreakTheStigma #PinkPonyClub

#Movember is a time where the men in our lives may not shave their faces for a month. Whether we love this (guilty) or hate it (also understandable) I thought it was a great time to learn more about what Movember means. It’s more than growing a mustache. It's about starting important conversations, especially about mental health. 💬 Did you know? Men are often less likely to open up about their mental health struggles, leading to increased feelings of isolation. It's time to break the silence. 🚨 Mental health matters: - 3 out of 4 suicides are men. - Men are less likely to seek help when they're struggling. - Depression, anxiety, and stress don't discriminate. 🧠 This Movember, let's change that: - Reach out to a friend. - Check in on your friends. - Start a conversation about mental health. You’re never alone. If you’re struggling, help is out there, and it's okay to ask for it. Let’s grow together, support each other, and prioritize mental health. -Amanda #MensHealth #MentalHealthMatters #Movember2024 #ItsOkayToTalk #BreakTheStigma

This Halloween season, don’t let self-care be the scariest thing on your to-do list! Carve out time for yourself (just like those pumpkins!) Treat yourself (maybe to some candy!) Unwind after a long day (even zombies need extra rest sometimes!) Face your fears (you’re stronger than you think!) Remember, self-care isn’t as spooky as it seems. Take time to nurture your mind, body, and soul. #SpookySelfCare #MentalHealthMatters #HalloweenVibes #SelfCareSeason #FaceYourFears #mentalhealth #healthintandem

Whether you're on your couch or at your desk, let’s make sure your virtual therapy session is as smooth as possible! ✅ DO find a quiet, private space. Confidentiality is something therapists value and find vital to the therapeutic process. We go to great lengths to make sure your privacy is prioritized when coming into our office spaces, but we can’t do that for you when you’re at home. One tip is to buy a sound machine on Amazon to place outside your room. This ensures no roommates or family members can overhear what you’re talking to us about! 🚫 DON’T stay in bed (as tempting as it is). We love that remote therapy means you can be in your safe space, but don’t forget that it’s hard to stay engaged if you’re too relaxed (and falling asleep!). ✅ DO dress like you're meeting a friend for coffee – comfy but appropriate! Again, we want you to feel comfortable, but this is still a professional meeting.. Pajamas can be okay, but towels or robes are not! 🚫 DON’T skip the tech check! We want to talk about you, not troubleshoot tech glitches. We don’t want to waste any of our precious time together figuring out how to get your airpods connected! ✅ DO make sure you have good lighting. Natural light or a lamp will keep things bright and clear so that we can see your lovely faces and better identify your emotions with you! Don’t forget to make sure you’re not backlit with a window behind you as well. Let’s make the most of our time together! #TherapyTips #RemoteTherapy #virtualtherapy #teletherapy #SelfCareFirst #healthintandem

Turning a new leaf is about more than just making changes, it's about embracing growth and the journey ahead! This fall, let's take time to reflect on how we have grown and where we would like to go from here. Whether it’s starting a new habit, letting go of old patterns, or adopting a fresh perspective, every step counts. Change can be challenging, but it’s also a great opportunity for healing and self-insight. -Ally #TurnANewLeaf #NewLeaf #GrowthJourney #Therapy #EmbraceChange #NewLeaf #FreshStart #PersonalGrowth #EmbraceChange #SelfDiscovery #MentalHealthMatters

Have you ever noticed how time passes differently depending on your environment? Routine can be beneficial as it provides a sense of stability and security for us. However, monotony can also bring about a sense that time is passing quicker than we’d like, or feel like we’re on autopilot. Finding ways to incorporate novelty into our routine can help us feel more present and give some reference points to break up the monotony or our routines. Some low-effort ways to incorporate novelty is to set up something to look forward to mid-week (ex: dinner with a friend, planning a walk to a coffee shop before work one morning, take a different route on your way home from work, or explore a new corner of your city on the weekend). When we get outside of our routine it is harder for us to be on autopilot, forcing us to engage in mindfulness in an effort to be aware of our surroundings. Give this a try to add some richness to your week! -Sierra #healthintandem #mentalhealth #mindfulness #therapy

In these uncertain times, managing political anxiety is essential for our well-being. By increasing self-care, limiting news exposure, talking about our feelings, and knowing our triggers, we can better navigate the challenges ahead. And remember, you’re not alone—many others are feeling the same way, and together, we can get through this. Check out Amanda's new blog to read more! #healthintandem #managepoliticalanxiety #election2024 #managingelectionanxiety
