Health Tech Without Borders is a global non-profit organization that supports local communities affected by sudden humanitarian emergencies. Health Tech Without Borders acts as an innovative hub that connects companies offering digital tools with experts in medical and psychological care. As a result, the global non-profit organization provides digital health interventions, such as online consultations, remote monitoring, and digital therapeutics. Organization connects qualified and vetted volunteer clinicians to those wounded by humanitarian disasters, war, or assault, and all human beings in need of medical attention. Additionally, Health Tech Without Borders offers online trainings for clinicians in crisis areas in medical and mental health challenges, as well as vetted digital health tools. Health Tech Without Borders was founded in 2022, and is working with corporations, universities, governing agencies, and other institutions around the globe to bring help, hope, and healthcare efficiently to local communities affected by crisis. Health Tech Without Borders focuses on supporting any person affected by humanitarian disasters while remaining non-sectarian and apolitical. Since our inception, we helped more than 65.000 patients in regions of crisis to seek medical and psychological support and facilitated targeted training for more than 2.000 clinicians.

Sustainable Development Response Organization/SUDRO-Sudan and Sudan ECHO Center of Excellence recently hosted Dr. Mary Showstark and Dr. Jarone Lee, MD MPH from Health Tech Without Borders to discuss how we are supporting #Sudan with a new medical chatbot. Many thanks to the moderators – Dr. Abrar Alalim, Dr. Naema Siddiq, and Dr. Hadeel Abdelseid. The session was an incredible opportunity to share our innovative use of technology. We presented our HTWB TacMed chatbot, developed in collaboration with Microsoft's Disaster Response team, designed to help frontline first responders and clinicians rapidly learn, review, and prepare for providing tactical medical care in combat situations. This innovative tool offers essential protocols from Stop the Bleed, Care Under Fire, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) to help frontline responders and clinicians. The HTWB TacMed Chatbot is available for free in Arabic and English for Sudanese responders in Sudan and neighboring countries. Health Tech Without Borders (HTWB) with Clinton Global Initiative hosted a session on Thursday, June 6, to delve into our collaborative efforts with iDocta and VSee to develop a local, sustainable, and culturally competent telehealth program for the Cameroon/Sahel region - called Project VITAL. The panel included: Yap Boum II, from Institut Pasteur de Bangui Milton Chen, from VSee Martin Lubowa, from iDocta Mary Showstark, from Health Tech Without Borders Moderator: Jenny Shapiro, MPH Project VITAL: Virtual International Telehealth and Leadership in Africa aims to expand access to healthcare in the conflict and climate-affected regions of Cameroon. Project VITAL plans to strengthen health systems through a sustainable training model, build healthcare worker capacity, promote skills underpinned by technology and innovation, build resilient communities, achieve equitable health, and empower youth. Project VITAL will leverage telehealth to enhance health equity by increasing access to specialists, enabling peer-to-peer consultations, providing tele-education, facilitating rapid triage, and identifying epidemics. It was a privilege to engage with the experts whose insights underscored the transformative power of technology in emerging situations during HIMSS Digital Health Conference in Rome on 31st of May. The Keynote session on Harnessing Technology to Advance Health Equity and Access for Vulnerable Populations under exceptional moderation by Isabelle Kumar, brought me on stage with Dr Waheed Arian who focused on the critical role of global collaboration and mental health support, and Javier Elkin, PhD who has been at the forefront of embedding advanced tech tools into the emergency healthcare settings. Thank you all for sharing your experience, expertise and inspiring work🙏 It was an important discussion about the growing need for tailored mental health support, the power of volunteers and the pivotal role of technology.
