As we reflect on the vibrancy of Pride Month, Heartland is deeply grateful to announce our partnership with Pride VMC. We are truly inspired by their unwavering dedication to the veterinary industry and the LGBTQIA+ community throughout the entire year. This partnership means so much to us as we work together to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for all veterinary professionals. In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Heartland teams spent the month participating in Move for Mental Wellness. This is an annual initiative highlighting the positive impact of physical activity on mental health. Throughout last month, team members pledged to boost their wellness routines and shared their progress through photos. From morning stretches and lunchtime walks to yoga, gardening, fishing, and extra strolls with their pets, the Heartland team excelled in this challenge. We are deeply grateful for everyone's enthusiastic participation and dedication to promoting mental well-being.

In honor of graduation season, we're sharing some throwback photos of a few of Heartland's support center veterinarians in their early days in the industry. This is a friendly reminder that everyone starts their career somewhere, and all veterinarians have a "first day." Give yourself grace as you find your footing in #vetmed, and enjoy your accomplishments along the way. Congratulations on your graduation! 

As we close out Celebrate Diversity Month, we're excited to feature two Heartland leaders who are helping our teams make sure we have the most welcoming culture possible. In addition to their day jobs, Lolita Kinsey-Brown (Regional Director of Operations) and Whitney Watson, MEd (Learning & Development Program Manager) co-lead our Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Advisory Committee at Heartland. We appreciate their efforts and are humbled by their commitment to our core values.

Whether they arrive on four legs, wings, or a scaly belly, veterinarians provide compassionate care to the earth's most vulnerable creatures. Our appreciation for their commitment is here every day, but especially on World Veterinary Day. 🌎 💛

The front line of veterinary medicine includes the often unsung heroes who answer phones, check patients in and out, remind us of health and wellness needs, and provide treats when the patient is a very, very good boy. We salute our amazing CSR teams during #VeterinaryReceptionistWeek! 💛

At Heartland, what we do on a daily basis goes way beyond just putting in hours. It’s about finding purpose and making meaningful impact every day. According to our recent Heartland Listens survey, nearly 95% of Heartland Support Center and practice team members experience real purpose and meaning in their work. We're certain that's the most significant metric of all. 💛

At Heartland, we are committed to supporting the development of our practice leaders so they can achieve their goals and reach their full potential. DVM GROW is a comprehensive leadership development workshop for doctors who are just stepping into leadership roles in their practice or have been leading for a while and want a refresher. The workshop dives deep, allowing the participating DVMs to explore topics such as creating a strong practice growth strategy, managing a diverse team, and successfully navigating conflict. We’re grateful to the Managing DVM participants for the excitement and passion they bring to this workshop and to everything they do.

The Heartland Campus Recruiting team is still abuzz from all the energy and excitement at the SAVMA Symposium this past weekend. Meeting all of the future veterinarians who stopped by the booth to say "hi," ask questions, and walk away with a balloon pet was a pleasure and an honor. Thank you, AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), for the opportunity to participate in such an incredible event, and thank you, UTCVM- University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine, for hosting!
