Updates

  • Is the old Instagram we all know and loved in its comeback era? Instagram has changed its algorithm AGAIN! But instead of dreading learning a new algorithm again, I'm optimistic about this one! The head of Instagram; Adam Mosseri made a video stating the new algorithm will favor smaller AND original creators. With the old algorithm favoring bigger creators and only pushing your content out to your followers first; it gave smaller creators little to no chance to grow on Instagram. So because the algorithm is changing again and it's giving more opportunities to smaller accounts, there is more competition within the space. Don't focus on the quantity of your content like how it was in the past. Focus on the quality of your content instead. Ask what value your content can bring to your target audience! #instagramgrowth #socialmediamanager #socialmediagrowth #instagramalgorithm #linkedin

As mostly everyone knows, the potential TikTok ban was passed, so let's talk about the next steps and what this actually means. For starters, TikTok will NOT be banned tomorrow, and it will not be deleted from your devices. ByteDance is given 9 to 12 months to sell TikTok to an American buyer. If TikTok does not, then TikTok and all other apps owned/created by ByteDance (TikTok, TikTok Notes, Lemon8, CapCut, etc.) will be taken off the app stores and banned within the United States. So users, content creators, and small businesses have a minimum of 12 months left on TikTok, instead of freaking out and stopping all content creation; you should be posting even more and more consistently! Stay calm and keep posting as normal; make sure whatever TikTok strategy you've been using that's the most effective is being used. Also make sure you try to migrate your TikTok audience to your other platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. This way if TikTok does get banned in the US, you will not lose a percentage of your demographic audience. What are your thoughts on the TikTok ban?

There are always times when I get very hesitant to post on social media. The pressure that comes with posting a normal video or photo on any platform sometimes wins and the video or photo never sees the light... But something I've learned as I became a social media manager is that all it takes is a phone, a tripod, and one click of a button for something to potentially change. One click of a button to put content into the world that can build a brand, build a community, have people connect and relate with, sharing, saving, reposting, and more! Stop waiting and just record, edit, and then hit the post button. You never know what could happen! 🤷♀️

  • Your Branding starts out with what your audience can see. Your logos are the very first representation of your business; so here are the 5 types of logos you need! The Primary Logo is the main graphic representing your brand, you’ll mainly use this logo whenever you are meeting your audience for the first time. A Secondary Logo is A simpler version of your primary logo, but still contains your business name. This can be used on an address label, website or print collateral. The Submark Logo is a simplified version of your logo that can easily be used on a smaller scale. Your submark is not a second logo. It’s more along the lines of an extension of your primary logo. A Favicon Logo is a small, 16x16 pixel icon used on web browsers to represent a website or a web page. favicons are commonly displayed on tabs at the top of a web browser, but they’re also found on your browser’s bookmark bar, history and in search results, alongside the page url. The Social Sharing Logo is a small thumbnail image represents your overall site. This image or images represents individual pages or items, like blog posts, products you offer, and portfolio sub-pages. #digitalmarketingagency #socialmediamanagement #brandingagency #logobrandingdesign #brandingtips

  • Happy Friday everyone! Here are your end of the week social media updates: 📱TikTok is still testing TikTok Notes which is their new app for photos (to compete with Instagram); it will not be available any time soon, but TikTok is letting users decide whether or not they would want their content to be on the new platform. 🪡Instagram Threads is testing out a “recent” search feature. Just like X; Threads wants users to be able to find relevant search results in real time; but haven’t quite successfully figured it out. 🔗LinkedIn was having great success with their algorithm; but in recent weeks, it has taken a downfall. The LinkedIn algorithm was able to reach new users for months on end, making your content have longevity; but after a “slight” algorithm change; users are seeing a drastic drop in engagement with their recent posts. What do you think about these updates? #digitialmarketingagency #socialmediaupdates #socialmediastrategy #socialmediamanagement

My controversial marketing take is you do NOT need to go on every single social media platform to brand your business or yourself! I say, find 1-3 platforms that you can master and understand how to grow on. THEN when you’ve perfected and mastered the platform (if you want) you can migrate to other social media platforms. The whole “you need to go on every single social media platform to grow and expand and build your brand” is so wrong and outdated. This mindset causes extreme burnout and promotes creating content that is poorly done and unauthentic. Yes, it will help you build a brand faster and allow you to get your name out to different target audiences, but in the long run, it will not build a strong community of people who will grow with you. So whether it’s Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (formerly known as Twitter), Snapchat, Twitch, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. find 1-3 platforms to start with and then start growing from there!
