For decades, Resolution Copper has engaged in a false information campaign to mislead Arizonans and other Americans about this proposed mine at Oak Flat. About us
Hispanics Enjoying Camping, Hunting, and the Outdoors (HECHO) is a group for Latinos who value our nation’s public lands. We work to protect healthy watersheds, clean air, and robust wildlife habitats so that we can continue to enjoy and practice centuries-old cultural traditions that depend on these open spaces. From southwestern deserts to northern forestland, Latinos throughout America have a strong connection to our nation's diverse landscapes. We urge our elected and appointed officials to safeguard our precious public lands, so that our children can enjoy fishing, hiking, hunting, camping and other outdoor activities for generations to come. HECHO provides a platform for our voices to be heard. We want decision makers to know that conservation is central to our values, grounded in our traditions, and a priority for the benefit of future generations.

The Dolores River serves as the lifeblood of the region, nurturing thriving desert ecosystems and providing a habitat for native fish, rare plants, and iconic game species. "The biodiversity that lives in this in these canyons is amazing. You have everything from bighorn sheep to mule deer in the upper reaches. You've got probably 100 different species of birds here at any given time. There are just some places like Dolores that are too special," says Max Trujillo, hunter, conservationist, and HECHO Regional Manager. The national monument designation, in addition to protecting public lands with significant cultural, biological, and scientific resources, also plays a key role in boosting local economies in nearby communities. According to a study by Science Advances, new businesses and jobs increased in communities near 14 monuments designated between 1991 and 2014. National monuments create jobs, enhance communities, and help boost local outdoor recreation economies. In 2021, they contributed 1.9 percent ($454.0 billion) of the nation's current-dollar gross domestic product. #Monumentsforall #AntiquitiesAct #Publiclands
