Mitigating the worst impacts of climate change by developing the world’s most cost-effective CO2 removal technology
About us
Mitigating the worst impacts of climate change by developing the world’s most cost-effective DAC technology to permanently remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Our technology rapidly accelerates the natural processes that enable limestone to absorb carbon dioxide from the air from a timespan of years to days. In 2023, Heirloom established the first and only Direct Air Capture facility in North America that permanently captures CO2. Our customers are the world’s biggest buyers of carbon removal including Microsoft, JP Morgan, McKinsey, Stripe, Shopify and more.

Miami, here I come! 🌴☀️✈️ From September 23rd to 25th, I’ll be at the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s World Sustainability Symposium, talking about how high quality carbon removal can help the aviation sector achieve net-zero with the urgency our climate goals demand. If you’re around, let’s meet up and chat about how we can tackle these climate goals together. See you there or shoot me a note if you'd like to meet! In the meantime, read more about Heirloom's Direct Air Capture technology here: https://lnkd.in/gPjjMi6B

Heirloom's co-founder Noah McQueen has been named to MIT Technology Review's list of 2024 Innovators Under 35! "Noah McQueen, 28, cofounded Heirloom Carbon Technologies in 2020 in a bid to drive down the costs and scale up [carbon removal] facilities. As an undergraduate at the Colorado School of Mines, McQueen had been searching for ways to use their love of math and science to achieve “an impact that’s bigger than myself.” When they began working with Jennifer Wilcox, a chemical engineering professor who had done pioneering work on capturing carbon dioxide from industrial plants or plucking it out of the air, McQueen finally saw a way to do so." Thank you to David St. Etienne of the The Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc for the warm welcome to Shreveport, where we’ll be harnessing the talents of minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses to power the clean industrial revolution! https://lnkd.in/dqnkMADY

In the two years since the Inflation Reduction Act's passage, we’ve opened America’s first commercial Direct Air Capture (DAC) facility, announced two future facilities in Louisiana (including a million-ton removal DAC Hub which will create thousands of jobs) and signed some of the largest deals in carbon removal to-date. Thank you to the leaders who secured the passage of this historical legislation. Your votes have put America on the cutting edge of climate innovation!
Happy Birthday, IRA!
