    The most common topic I've heard raised at advisory board meetings is the importance of head-to-head clinical trials—specifically, how there aren't enough of them being conducted, especially in disease states replete with effective treatment options. By directly comparing the efficacy, safety, and overall value of two therapies, head-to-head trials provide unambiguous insights that extend beyond what placebo-controlled trials can offer. For physicians, this means better-informed decisions. For patients, this means more effective and tailored care. For the pharmaceutical industry, head-to-head trials raise the bar for innovation by promoting transparency and competition. Head-to-head trials are more than a comparison—they are the basis of reality-based care.     Introducing Creative Director of Copy Mike Fine! Reporting in from Evanston, Illinois, Mike joins the growing wave of Midwestern talent making their mark on Team Heller. With over 20 years of copywriting experience, Mike has an expansive catalog of work to look back on. Starting his career writing copy for large agencies, Mike soon discovered his preference for smaller agency life as he continued to evolve as a creative. He especially enjoys the closer-knit connections, interdepartmental collaboration, and heightened investment in culture that come from working within a smaller team. A seasoned creative well-acquainted with the rules and regulations of pharmaceutical marketing, Mike understands the importance of taking risks. He is a strong proponent of the philosophy "you have to know the rules to break them," which parallels his passion for jazz music. Much like writing copy, to be a great jazz musician you must master the foundations. From there, you can begin to experiment, push the limits, and discover new techniques, creating highly evocative work that resonates with people. To that end, Mike does not silo himself into one form of expression or perspective. Outside of work, he enjoys playing music in his band and going out for walks. These outdoor excursions take him as far as the Rocky Mountains, where he’s recently taken an interest in exploring the region’s captivating ancient petroglyphs. Welcome to Heller, Mike!     When I joined Heller Agency half a year ago, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting into. I’d always been the proverbial “individual contributor”—someone who helps execute the day-to-day work of an agency, but not someone who others look to for guidance or mentorship. But, all of a sudden, I found myself in charge of Scientific Services at Heller, given a career-changing opportunity to grow and define the future of an organization. Since then, I’ve been asking myself why I value this organization so much and what makes it so different from anywhere else I’ve worked. I realized it’s because every ounce of work from this team springs from a foundation of science—a deep understanding of pharmacokinetics, biological mechanisms, and clinical trial data. At Heller, science is at the root of brand strategy, and the strength of our strategy informs our creative and content.
