Continuing our streak of talented #NewHearts joining our copy team, Heller would like to extend a warm welcome to Associate Creative Director of Copy Dawn Hastings! While Dawn did not initially consider working in pharmaceutical marketing, as she continued to grow and develop as a writer, she came to realize her passion for medical and scientific writing. Her 20 years of copywriting experience have turned her into an excellent mentor and efficient creator, but she also knows when to take risks and push the envelope. For Dawn, her favorite part of pharmaceutical writing is the challenge. She loves working out new solutions to age-old problems, like making medical ads interesting to physicians and revising dense medical terminology to make it digestible for patients. Dawn’s adventurous spirit extends to her life outside of work. She’s an avid camper, traveling in her trailer across the country now and then—sometimes with some furry friends to accompany her! While her two dogs adore getting the fresh air, her cat tends to give her the cold shoulder after their trips. Ok don't let the crazy long title scare you off – this is actually an incredibly important topic I have the honor to speak on live at UberEvents.io 2024 Pharma CX Marketing Summit in downtown Philly next Wed the 30th. If anyone caught my TED-style talk on TRUST in pharma last year, please consider snagging a ticket to see their impressive line-up of topics this year. My talk, "Championing a Long-Term Successful CX Omnichannel Roadmap Engrained in Your Organization's Culture" (whew that's a mouthful), is for people that seek to improve their company's culture and want it to stick. Too many times one person champions an idea and then colleagues resist adapting to the change... sometimes having the entire initiative vaporize when that person leaves the organization. This talk is about making great ideas for change sticky... and having the patience and plan to help recruit key stakeholders to embrace it. The most common topic I've heard raised at advisory board meetings is the importance of head-to-head clinical trials—specifically, how there aren't enough of them being conducted, especially in disease states replete with effective treatment options. By directly comparing the efficacy, safety, and overall value of two therapies, head-to-head trials provide unambiguous insights that extend beyond what placebo-controlled trials can offer. For physicians, this means better-informed decisions. For patients, this means more effective and tailored care. For the pharmaceutical industry, head-to-head trials raise the bar for innovation by promoting transparency and competition. Head-to-head trials are more than a comparison—they are the basis of reality-based care.
