I regret to share that Sleuth (https://lnkd.in/gpUpdXrC) is shutting down and closing its doors. Building Sleuth these past few years has been an incredible journey. From our first website draft to our highly rated app, we overcame numerous hurdles: collecting a vast data library, creating a powerful product, and driving intense usage with more than 25,000 new answers per week. In bittersweet news, Fast Company named Sleuth one of two finalists in their app category for World Changing Ideas of 2024. We resoundingly proved that a high-quality resource could be built using crowdsourced data purely from observations by parents and caregivers. As co-founders, Sehreen and I want to express our endless gratitude to Georgiy for his brilliant engineering and Alyona whose craft and artistry is jaw-dropping, and to the individuals who made transformative contributions along the way: Stephen, Jade, Alexander, Samantha, Igor, Jenna, Reg, John, Chethan, and Shaun just to name some. Sleuth was the joint product of everyone’s imagination. Sleuth was born in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, ran through the pandemic, and bloomed in Bucharest, Zagreb, Barcelona, London, and New York through hundreds of coffee shop meetings, thousands of video calls, and hundreds of thousands of lines of code. We want to thank the investors who believed in this endeavor from its earliest days: Antler (Tyler and Ryan), Newlab (Chris and Shaun), Brooklyn Bridge Ventures (Charlie), MATH Venture Partners (Dana and Mert), Graham & Walker (Leslie), Newchic (Jenn Cheng-Lo), John Friedman, Sahirzeeshan (Sahir) Ali, Daniel Folkinshteyn, Gary Vaynerchuk, Rebekah Bastian, John Lee, and Vanessa Funmi Ullam. You deeply comprehended what Sleuth could become, and went way beyond normal partnership to make it possible. We are forever grateful. Finally, we cannot thank our families enough for the boundless patience and immense sacrifice that are required when spouses, partners, and parents do an endeavor like this. Sleuth’s approach to kids' healthcare needs to exist and we believe that a similar product is inevitable. It can’t come soon enough.
