What an unforgettable week in Chicago! I kicked things off with an inspiring dinner, thanks to Comcast NBCUniversal and the Local Media Association where meaningful conversations and fresh, innovative ideas were in full flow. It was a pleasure reconnecting with the fabulous Gwyneth Gaul, CAP® Sarah Ferst Finkelstein and Mark Segal! The week got even better as I had the privilege of collaborating with incredible colleagues from CNBC and the NBCU Academy teams, alongside new friends from hellohive Byron Slosar and Gina Bruso, MBA at the NBCU Academy Student AI Innovation Summit at Columbia College! A packed room of eager, passionate students reinforced my belief in the bright future of our industry. Recently I had the opportunity to attend "The AI Generation: A Student Innovation Summit," organized by NBCU Academy/ NBC News , Project UP at #ColumbiaCollegeChicago. The summit delved deep into the evolving role of AI in the workforce, its challenges, and its immense potential. This quarter, I'm taking a course on #AIinmarketing, and I'm really interested in learning about the role of AI in the workplace and what industry professionals are saying about it. So the major key takeaways I had from this great event are , Andrew McCaskill from LinkedIn highlighted that job descriptions are increasingly requiring familiarity with AI, with a 16% rise in AI related skill requirements. Soon, the question will shift from "Do you know AI?" to "How are you using AI in your work?" "The Future of Work "was a central theme. While AI is advancing rapidly, its true value comes from how we, as humans, harness its power by always keeping a human touch of adapting, learning, and thinking of AI as a skill to master, not something to fear. Kristina F. emphasized the importance of courage and adaptability in the workforce, urging us to not just be optimistic but also daring in how we approach our careers. #AItools are rapidly transforming industries, but they won’t replace us; we have to work along with these tools. It’s essential to maintain a balance between using AI tools and keeping human creativity and intuition alive. Byron Slosar, CEO of hellohive, gave great advice: It’s all about finding your path, making connections, and focusing on doing what’s right.
