on June 22nd 2024, BYU online students in Nsawam Ward held a devotional that was an impactful event focusing on both spiritual growth and practical support for education. The devotional was presided over by President Patrick K. Daniels, the stake president of the Accra Ghana Ofankor Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with some member students from Nsawam Ward and about 13 non-members. its purpose was to inspire and inform attendees about how the BYU Pathway program can foster self-reliance and personal development. Sister Debbie palmer, BYU missionary who joined the meeting via zoom walked the students through the need to take their English lessons serious before pathway and also shared with them some resources that can help them study effectively. President Stephen Abu Jnr, the Stake President of the Tema Ghana Stake and double as the officer in charge of the operation in the Africa Area for Help Start Education Foundation was a guest speaker. He emphasised the importance of using computers responsibly, respecting the sacredness of funds( computers)received for educational purposes and engaging in a good course that will be pleasant in the sight of our Father in Heaven It was fascinating to know when the presiding officer, President Patrick K. Daniels, broke the news that he, his counsellors, and the Bishop of Nsawam Ward( Nanavi Solomon) were all participants or students in the BYU Pathway Program. This personal connection likely resonated with students, demonstrating that leaders understand and support their educational journey A significant gesture was made when a good number of computers were distributed to students who did not have them, demonstrating tangible support for their educational needs. We now can say with confidence that there is no student in Nsawam without a computer. This initiative was made possible through the entire Nsawam Ward leadership and we are grateful also to the entire Accra Ghana Ofankor Stake Presidency, Sister Debbie Palmer and Help Start Education Foundation. I asked the student a rhetorical question which is ” What will make the entire membership in the stake presidency and other stake leaders and help start education agree to come together to speak and support their education journey and what will make church leaders enthused and be participants of this wonderful program? * until we come to understand that, seeking knowledge or education is a commandment we will have no case to rest but to pursue our certificate and degree courses and there will be no room for dropout. The devotional appears to be a comprehensive and supportive event, combining spiritual upliftment and practical assistance aimed at nurturing the educational and personal development of BYU Online Students in Nsawam Ward. #byupathway #helpstarteducationfoundation #accraghanaofankorstake
