Helping persecuted Christians throughout the Muslim world. Rescue. Restore. Rebuild. | HTP.org

About us

Imagine facing torture and death for just five words—"I believe in Jesus Christ." This is a reality for more than 245 million Christians today. They often face physical violence towards themselves or loved ones—or lose homes and jobs because of their faith in Jesus. Their burdens are not meant to be carried alone. We want to see persecuted Christians experience fellowship with the Body of Christ as their needs are met—and find renewed strength to follow Christ. Help The Persecuted has been supporting suffering Christians with practical and spiritual help since 2011 and in 2018 was established as standalone charitable organization. We pray our efforts will empower the global Church to flourish not just in the Muslim world, but also in the Western world as we share in their suffering and bear their burdens.

Our Pastoral Care Team in Lebanon is meeting the immediate needs of persecuted Christians and other vulnerable people swept up in the warzone. Thousands of people who called southern Lebanon home had to flee at a moment's notice when the fighting escalated. Our War Refuge Center and all of our Safe Houses became full practically overnight with persecuted believers in need of safe refuge. However, as we look for more places to host those who have been displaced, we want to do everything we can to help those still in need of safe shelter. We have been distributing emergency food, hygiene kits, and, as you can see in these photos, mattresses! We are grateful for the opportunity to alleviate some of the burdens the war has brought on these already vulnerable populations...showing them the love of Jesus in the midst of a warzone. Thank you for partnering with us to minister in this way!

Our Pastoral Care Team in Lebanon is providing wrap-around care for persecuted Christians who have lost everything as war spreads throughout the country. In addition to food, safe shelter, and medical care, they host Bible studies! Here is a picture of a group that came together to learn from God's Word this past week. Please pray for each of them—that the Lord will continue to protect them and that they will grow in their knowledge of Christ...even in a warzone.

As the war continues in Lebanon, we are continuing to come alongside persecuted believers and other vulnerable people in ways that minister to both the body and the spirit! One of the many ways that we do that is through our egg and chicken distributions. We provide each family a crate of eggs and a frozen chicken. After this initial touchpoint, we continue to minister to them, meeting their tangible needs in the midst of the war and pointing them to the everlasting hope and love of the Lord!

These children in a closed country enjoyed an extra strong start to the school year—thanks to your generous giving and prayers! Our Field Ministers partnered with a local church to put on an outreach event, sharing the hope of Christ (and a hearty lunch!) to 800 children who were in need! We gave each child a backpack with pencils, notebooks, stationery, and a spiritual booklet that tells more about Jesus. Please pray that as these children put on their backpacks and head to school, they will remember that there is a God who loves them...and come to saving faith in Jesus!

What's in...a box? For these recipients of our Emergency Relief Kit, it's tangible evidence that they are seen and loved by God...even in the midst of a warzone. Because if your support, our Pastoral Care Team in Lebanon gets to distribute hundreds of Emergency Relief Kits every month, and that number is only increasing as the war rages on. In every box, we put a month's worth of dry food goods (things like rice, flour, and tea)...as well as Bibles and spiritual discipleship materials that point people to the hope of Christ. When they receive the Emergency Relief Kits, many people are overwhelmed with gratitude. One person said, "Thank you for this Bible. It is the most valuable gift you have given us!" Thank you for your faithful prayers and generosity—it is making it possible for us to minister in Lebanon on an unprecedented scale!

In the midst of a warzone in Lebanon…our Seeds of Hope farm continues to flourish! We are working with local churches and coordinating distributions through them to reach out to the most vulnerable Christians. When we share the food from the farm, we see smiles break through the weariness of the war as these persecuted Christians are reminded they are seen and loved in the midst of very difficult circumstances. We praise God for these opportunities to minister and remind people of the hope of Christ!

Ali is originally from Syria, and he was baptized in a church where our Field Minister Amin pastors. When the war started, Ali was displaced from the south, but he could not find a place to stay because of his Syrian nationality. However, our Field Ministers welcomed him into our War Refuge Center—something that your faithful prayers and generosity have made possible! He has found safety there, and our team is ministering to him. He told our team, “Your organization truly operates in the spirit of the Lord. He has shown His work through us!” We are grateful for the chance to show people that in the midst of war, the Lord still sees them and loves them!

Our Pastoral Care Team in Lebanon is actively making visits to hundreds of homes in the midst of the war, often delivering Emergency Relief Kits, which provide a month’s worth of dry food goods, hygiene kits, blankets, and mattresses...as well as Bibles and discipleship materials. We are ramping up this initiative as the need grows. Please pray for our Pastoral Care Team’s stamina and for all the people they will be ministering to!

Hassan is a persecuted believer who was baptized in a local church near our War Refuge Center. When the fighting began in southern Lebanon, he had to flee immediately…and, because of your faithful prayers and generosity, our Field Ministers were able to welcome him and his family into our War Refuge Center. As a Syrian, he had faced humiliation, and he told our team, “Thank you for providing safe accommodation without any discrimination. I am grateful for your care and service.” He also said that he has enjoyed the Bible study that our team holds in the center, saying that it ministered to his heart in a difficult time. We are grateful for the opportunity to minister to persecuted Christians in the midst of a warzone!
