About us
From small town railroad crossings to commercial shopping centers and great expanses of farmland, Hempfield’s 44.2 square mile geography attracts a diverse workforce, creating a community with a rich blend of agricultural, blue collar, and professional backgrounds. 𝙌: 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙠𝙞𝙙, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙬 𝙪𝙥? 👩🏻🏫📖 A: I wanted to be a teacher! My first-grade teacher taught me the love of reading, and I thrived on that. However, since math is not a strong suit of mine, my dreams moved on to working in a role where I could help people, which is how I became a social worker. 𝙌: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙮? ❄️☃️ A: I love snow, so my favorite season (probably an unpopular opinion) would be winter as long as we see some white, fluffy stuff flying through the air! If there is no snow, then I would definitely rather have springtime weather! I almost always have multiple projects going at the same time. You can also usually find me at a ballpark, court, rink, or pitch cheering on my nephew. Q: What is your favorite thing about working for Hempfield School District? 🤩🎉 A: Witnessing people's excitement when I extend them a job offer and onboard them. Having a job is literally life-changing, and knowing that I'm able to lift the stress and anxiety from someone's shoulders makes me feel incredible. Q: What book, movie, or TV show have you read/watched lately that you would recommend? 🏰📜 A: Ancient and medieval history is very close to my heart so I love Bernard Cornwell's fiction series "The Last Kingdom," which was also turned into a series on Netflix. #BlackKnightPride
