Hempitecture Founders Mattie Mead and Tommy Gibbons present to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in Washington D.C 🇺🇸 Hempitecture was selected for an interview with the DOE for a project under MESC, the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains. This program is designed to support small and medium-sized manufacturers in current and former coal communities that are focused on producing and recycling clean energy products, as well as investing in decarbonization at their facilities. Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and managed by the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC), the Advanced Manufacturing and Recycling Grant Program is intended to be a boon towards national decarbonization efforts while directly benefiting communities affected by fossil fuel transition. It was an honor to present our concept for revitalizing manufacturing industries with natural, hemp based fibers underneath the MESC Program. To read more: https://lnkd.in/gYKn5KEP

The results are in, HempWool® Thermal Insulation is definitively Carbon Negative 💭🌎⚡ Hempitecture is proud to publish our Life Cycle Analysis for HempWool® in partnership with University of Idaho UI-Integrated Design Lab. This multi-year study considers a cradle to gate A1-A3 lifecycle, beginning at the farm where our raw materials are grown by hardworking farmers across the North West. It factors in our 100% renewable energy consumption, our production process, and even packaging. With all these factors considered, HempWool® stores more carbon than it releases, meaning it is carbon negative. Our products help turn our built environment, which is responsible for 40% of domestic carbon emissions, into a carbon storage device, upending the disproportionate impact that buildings have on our earth.
