We at HepQuant LLC echo the sense of loss and sadness, that many have already voiced, at the passing of colleague and friend, Dr. Stephen Harrison. Steve was tirelessly committed to the advancement of diagnostics and therapeutics for chronic liver disease due to metabolic dysfunction. His work impacted researchers, pharmaceutical partners, educational institutions, regulatory agencies; but, most importantly patients. His energy, humor, optimism, and “can do” attitude drove him to succeed across these various disciplines, create partnerships, and strategically guide potential treatments across the finish line. The field of Hepatology will sorely miss Stephen, he cannot be replaced. Our condolences to Stephen’s family and friends for their loss. About us
HepQuant develops non-invasive, quantitative tests that measure liver health. The HepQuant DuO Test enables healthcare providers to manage patients with liver diseases more effectively. The HepQuant DuO Test delivers information about liver cell function and portal-systemic shunting, attributes of liver disease that are associated with clinical outcomes. Results may be used by a physician in conjunction with clinical evaluation and other tests to aid in the decision to proceed with or defer invasive procedures, to monitor treatment response, or to predict disease progression and adverse outcomes, such as ascites, encephalopathy and variceal bleeding.
